I heard Business.com sold for about $14million.

I just looked up Business.eu and it looks like someone unprofessional bought it --- and got lucky....

How does someone acquire something like Business.eu 1st? Did they just be the first to register when they announced the .eu extension??

The day a new extension comes out.... can you purchase it off Godaddy, etc.??

Filing a trademark for B&U&S&I&N&E&S&S would have gone a long way with Eurid registry :hehe: Wouldn't surprise me if was such a dodgy TM claim.

First you have a Sunrise period where companies and legitimate trademark holders can forward documentation to claim a domain which will then be reviewed against other applicants and awarded appropriately, which was a complete failure on Eurid's part.

When the Landrush starts then anyone can register the new extension domain provided the registrant is compliant with registry enforced registration requirements, such as nationality for instance.

Not always the case but could be, in case of the .eu extension this was the case.

Usage of the domain Business.eu is a bit disappointing but not as disappointing as Shopping.eu - Sex.eu and Hotels.eu which are completely unused

It sold for around that figure in the 90's
It recently sold & associated 'business'

I wonder if people in the inside of these ICANN & GoDaddy companies get first dibbs on names --- such as name.info beach.mobi basic ones like that -- they all must join in such a gold rush and have good preparation to do so........ The day .web comes out... i would love to buy things like windows.web .... just anything.... is it possible to do so on that date??
