.mobi Bought These Of the Traffic List .. Any Opinions ??

i scrubbed these of the Traffic list (live and silent), they are all 5k or above in reserve for their com version, i think most of them have mobi applications but i still have 5 days to throw them back ... any opinions especially about mobi applications ??

None of those strike me as very valuable .mobis. Long and not particularly suited for mobile. Maybe someday, but unlikely to be valuable in the short-to-midterm. There's a few interesting one's though. So do hard research on them and take it from there.

I like the strength of the radio broadcasting keywords (I registered broadcaster.mobi) but I'm not sure if radio broadcasting has a mobile phone application.

jagusa, it seems like there are 2 schools of thought regarding mobi, those that think it will only work for fairly well defined mobile applications (getting a taxi, quick area code, ordering pizza etc) and the second group assumes that the traditional keyword strategy will apply to mobi in the same way (or mostly in the same way) as it does toward established tld

i used to be in the first group but maybe am moving a little toward the second

part of what is not yet clear to me is whether mobi will be useful on the somewhat larger mobile devices like blackberries and palms, if that turns out to be the case it would seem that keywords will work ... who knows / anyway thanks for your comment

I think there is some merit to a keyword strategy but ultimately the only real way to know is to actually test it with some developed sites. I'm working on some keyword sites that are certainly NOT considered a well mobile defined domain and will serve as an indicator for me to answer that very question.

I agree that they are pretty worthless. They are either too long or just not very applicable. As you register .mobi's, remember that the intention is that the user will want the information in a hurry; i.e. no drawn out topics or heavy browsing.

I kind of like RVcampers.mobi and could see this one becoming a popular .mobi site if fully developed for rv camping destinations, repair shops, etc.. Grant it, there are a few other keywords I would prefer to use then "campers" but it certainly could work.

Thousands of people travel the Country in their RV's and do not have access to a computer, but most would have a mobile phone and would consider this information valuable when they are visiting a new location or planning their next venture while out on the road.

for those of you who liked various names especially ofclean who was thinking about searchlyrics.mobi, it one of the 25 i threw back in pond

i threw back 25 and kept 5, most are borderline long but acceptable for their purpose......

airfarewatcher.mobi - travelocity has something called farewatcher which tracks the best roundtrip airfares to various cities ... i believe that airfarewatcher.mobi has a great here and now mobile application for people that travel a lot

draftboard.mobi - works 2 ways in case of war it works for the military draft as a source of information and it works here and now for sports draft and fantasy sports drafts

evancouver.mobi - vancouver is one of the worlds major cities and the regular "non-e" version is worth a lot more and like every other lemming i figure that if you put an e in front of a word it has to be worth something on the internet

playoffgames.mobi - if people continue to gamble and they start to use their phones to do it, this name has to have some value .... somebody in nevada is gonna want this name

pregnancyfacts.mobi - i think pregnant women are big users of mobile phones and i think they are going to want information regularly and quickly about pregnancy, i think it has a real mobile application
