On Monday, GoDaddy announced it is acquiring Neustar’s domain name registry business and renaming it GoDaddy Registry. After long resisting vertical integration, GoDaddy decided it was time to own a registry business. GoDaddy will now be both the wholesaler and retailer when a Neustar domain is registered at GoDaddy. Now how is that going to effect .biz domains?

i dont get it... some people here say 4l.biz are prem priced to reg.
then i saw a day ago expired 3L.biz names and a few 4l.biz too... all for $10 regular regfee.

just because a register says it’s a premium doesn’t mean shit.... if no one in the real world wants the domain it’s not a premium...

well not really so
when an extension makes domains premium, they usually pick the best names...
whether its .co or any other.

so in thta sense, premium does mean best... but if your definition of premium you say is that its not premium unless it sells and finds a buyer, then well.. then that's just a different definition of premium from what most have

hmmm... not sure which registrar you used to check prices... but be careful cause some registrars have out of this world prices.. so if typically regfee avg is $10... they may have for instance regular regfee at $20. like uniregistry for instance.. check this out below... first number is how much to register regfee (so for non prem names).... as you see many registrars are way above avg... most of these we never use and never hear of... but im suprised uniregistry is on the ripoff side regarding biz basic regfee... its not somehting you expect from mainstream registrar.. then again, we all heard enough horror tales about unireg.

i started domaining 5-6 years ago.. so like many new domainers i thought biz was good investment.. in fact i was excited to see so many good 1word biz names everywhere... so since my start i spent whole bunch of money on regging them... even renewed a bunch too lol

lucky for me, I also had a few sales.. i think they just were still bit more common say 4 yrs ago... so im still glad i escaped the biz nightmare NOT in the red overall. though overall my profit was not worth the time spent on it.. but.. its all part of learning process. and lessons and courses are never free in life.

If you saw 3L and 4L domains .biz at $10, I think you aren't checking it correctly. The premium price only gets applied once it's in a cart and ready to check out. I don't think Godaddy would have missed pricing any of those.

i just logged into my name.com account.. and went to very final step of chekcout .. so im not gonna click buy to buy them.... but LIM and TTTT are both showing 9$ on final step of checkout still.

so i guess maybe if u still wanna grab some 3l biz or some others, name.com could be your place to go... i dunno.. u would need to complete checkout... but they can't show you 9$ per name on last step of checkout, then charge you 500$ on card. its not even legal.
