I'm using image to show my email details, instead of using text :)

So, I'll vote for 'other' :)

In Finland they have a popularly accepted system for company emails, by saying email the person you would like to contact using the format: [email protected]

I personally use a script to hid my email address from spambots, it seems to work, for exampe for the fictional address: [email protected] the script would be:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- Begin
user = "truthman";
site = "companyXYZ.net";

document.write('<a href=\"mailto:' + user + '@' + site + '\">');
document.write("<u>");
document.write(user);
document.write("@companyXYZ.net</u><\/a>");

// End -->
</SCRIPT>

@ contact.js
document.writeln("<a href=\"mailto:[email protected]\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"images\/email.gif\" border=\"0\"><\/a>");

I prefer not displaying the address at all, but rather to use a contact form.

Thanks for all the replies.
I've been using hyperlinks, but think I might switch to using images instead.
Good suggestion, mirul!

Yes, a contact form is all I need if I need people to contact me. Don't forget captcha!

I use a contact form, with required confirmation. That pretty much kills spam.

When they submit the contact form, it automatically sends the mail to the sender for confirmation. I then trap the IP address and time of both the original and confirmation message and log it. This ties the IP address confirmation to the email in case of problems. The script automatically checks a list of known problem IP's and scans the text for common spam/scam problems (keywords). If they are on the blocked IP list, the site automatically forwards to FBI.gov, which is just plain funny.

I use a contact form with captcha and never get spam as they don't know your email unless you respond and you can always create multiple emails for different categories of people, friends get a good email where unknowns maybe get an alternate email until proven that way if you start getting a bunch of spam you can just delete that email address without losing your friends on the good one.

and the one I use for wordpress...

Thanks for your thoughts, SpareDomains.

Actually, I have used Contact Form 7 (I think it's "7") before but not for email - I modified it slightly and used it as a simple directory submission tool.
Just added it to one of my contact pages.

Thanks again for all the replies!

If you're seeking to sell domains, make it as easy as possible for buyers ... use a normal clickable email hyperlink.

Yep, I totally agree about making it as easy as possible and that's why I originally used hyperlinks.

But filling a contact form is no more work than writing an email.
I'm not arguing, just wondering whether someone genuinely interested in buying a domain would be even slightly deterred by finding a contact form on the contact page?

I still display mine but use seperate emails for this & that, i got tons of email accounts being forwarded here and there but had been keeping one 100% spam free account only for important clients.
