If you're going to advertise with banners, it should be eye catching, straight forward and sophisticated. Sometimes the best way to accomplish this is with an animation. You can either have motion graphics in your banner or a sequence of still images and text that get your point across. I can accomplish this with Adobe Flash Professional.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unfortunately a lot of designers are using clipart in their designs, recycling the works of others for profit. I can't stress enough that absolutely ALL of my designs are 100% original vector graphics. I've never used clipart and never will use clip art, just 18 years of experience, creativity and feedback from you.
