Isn't that like saying ads don't make people buy things?

A lot of people think they are unaffected by ads, yet there is a good reason why big corporations spend billions on them.

Imho, a nice clean landing page can get an unsure prospect to overcome his doubts and pull the trigger.

It also depends how you are selling your domains...
If fixed price - then some credible lander is necessary...
But if in Make Offer mode - lander doesn't matter at all, only your negotiation skills.

How do you fly to the moon then?

Technically, you don't fly to the moon. Flying requires an atmosphere that provides the necessary pressure difference. A higher pressure under the wings than over the wings makes the aircraft fly.
