It was two years ago, maybe three - it was a paper scam to promote sales.

Beware of smoke and mirrors. They are there to confuse you, and separate you from your hard-earned cash. On the other hand, the recent flurry of .cc activity could go one of two ways:

    - if enough people develop their .cc, and create a critical mass of internet surfers who recognize and respect the extension, then .cc keywords could become very valuable
    - if 99%+ of people with .cc domains just park them somewhere, then it will eventually lose its credibility and luster

So if you're betting on .cc, then place your time and money on the line, and go develop.

So true, I am as guilty as the next man in terms of developing etc.

No your not crazy, they are mistaken. Beauty.cc was a hype machine PR move to promote the extention.....an inflated stock deal....very similar to the business.com deal which wasn't the 7.5 million dollar mega sale it's been reported to be. Click here if you want to be enlightened.....the post also covers the current beauty.cc theme as well.

    Beauty.cc bulls**t

Have you guys noticed the funniest thing?
Remember that beauty.cc $1,000,000 sale hoopla?
You would think that after spending that much on a domain one would invest some money into developing and promoting it... Think again. All it has (for quite awile now) is a "lorem ipsum" template, which by the way is pretty lame.
I have a strong impression that the "sale" is a hoax. Publicity stunt. An attempt to get some attention to .cc TLD.

Oops, wrong forum. Please move to "DN Discussions".

When did this sale supposidly happen? Who sold it? And who purchased it?
I don't remember hearing about this! And thats is a lame template! And aren't most sales for "not so great domains" just Publicity stunts!

yes does sound kinda fishy why would someone pay 1,000,000 to put a crappy template on it.

    I remember that one...

"Great" Domains proudly displayed it in their "high profile" sales section
    for many, many months.

    Good call - likely another S C A M

Most of their names are way overpriced to begin with.
