Web site names ending in new top-level domains (TLDs) like .men, .work and .click are some of the riskiest and spammy-est on the Internet, according to experts who track such concentrations of badness online. Not that there still aren’t a whole mess of nasty .com, .net and .biz domains out there, but relative to their size (i.e. overall number of domains) these newer TLDs are far dicier to visit than most online destinations.

There are many sources for measuring domain reputation online, but one of the newest is The 10 Most Abused Top Level Domains list, run by Spamhaus.org. Currently at the #1 spot on the list (the worst) is .men: Spamhaus says of the 65,570 domains it has seen registered in the .men TLD, more than half (55 percent) were “bad.”

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
#NotAll.men Sorry, couldn't resist.

I am surprised that .work and .loan are in amongst this but then again I guess they are very open to being used to scam and commit fraud by trying to pass themselves off as authentic companies.

HeHe

Not as bad as the Canadian Prime Minister though...

There is a special place reserved for him in HELL according to Washington.

I'm surprised they did not add .ca to that list :xf.laugh: :xf.laugh: :xf.laugh:

PS. I hear criticizing Canada is one of the leading causes of heart attacks

To save me my time in this redundant discussion, I will (exceptionaly) reply here with the same post which I made alreadyyy in another thread*, normally it should help you to understand - if it won't help you, I can't help you:

Not my problem, I have nothing to do with domaining activities of others, no matter which TLD they are using.

Like I drink clean water although others are contaminating it through their bad activities somewhere in the world, I am using domains in a clean way although others are registering domains for spam activities somewhere in the world.
I am only responsible for my own domaining, I don't care about other's domaining activities.

Atuallyyy there is no reason to confront me with this, therefore you can see it as an exception that I reply to your (such a) post.

BTWWW

USA ("home" of ".com") is #1 of the worst spam countries

Also not my problem.

The following pic is from your mentioned nP - thread - link; as you can see, there is no .top in this list:

Anywayyy I have better things to do than to visit "negative - statisitics" - sites.

For example, registering .top domains - today I registered this great one:

whoswho.top

Just be careful if you're going to use those sales as justification for investing in .top... 90%+ of those sales are by the registry. Actual aftermarket sales of the .top extension are pretty terrible.

Thinking (dot)men is listed as #1 as of this posting, simply because it fits into the "porn" industry..

I can see how registry sales would make up the majority ,but i also checked out expired domains and out of the thousands of 4L .tops I checked using the filters all of them had been registered ,only time will tell if .top will provide any sort of value in the long run but even if the resale is not there the fact is registry have sold premium domains for good money ,the point I’m making is yes I beleive the majority of .top domains will never get good prices but great .top domains with high value subject and keywords will still be a good commodity though they may never compete dollar wise to an established tld.

I do agree that .top names with in-demand keywords can indeed sell for good money (no more or less so than any ngTLD with strong keywords).

The 4L rarity in .top speaks to me more of hopeful Chinese investors than of an actual demand. There was a crazy run of 5L .com names with patterns back in 2016, but nothing much came of that. Probably these investors are hoping for a pump 'n dump scenario where they hype the market and sell all their names at a modest profit to others who think they're getting in on a new land rush.
