The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
That's why Bill Gates (and Zuckerberg, Bezos, Ballmer, and all the other billionaires) have luxury bunkers on every continent, and many own entire "doomsday islands" complete with turrets, missiles, and armed guards. Did you know that where ever these guys are in the world, there is a fully-fueled helicopter fired up and waiting nearby on a rooftop or airfield?
I just wonder what they're going to do when they're all safe and isolated in their bunkers.

I guess they can do that if the CNN folks have a bunker, too.

These not redneck bunkers you see on the news, but luxury underground condos, complete with massive defenses to keep the other 99% of rabble away from their resources. These are for real and have steel doors and barricades, turrets, missiles, and a full armed security detail and support staff.

Imagine a huge Microsoft HQ office building built underground, but with a lot thicker doors and heavier defenses.

Their entire purpose is to allow billionaires and their families to survive the upcoming climate/food/resource/pandemic/whatever disaster that will befall us due to rampant overpopulation, and then support them in comfort until most of us die off and it's safe for them to emerge. That's in the human genome - to survive, at any cost.

By then, they'll be more than enough food, safe land, and resources to go around.

This got me worried
  • I have virtually no hearing above about 150 Hz :xf.frown: (I hear those deep notes so well though :xf.grin:)
  • Things look fuzzier and fuzzier on the screen each year and my eye specialist shows me pretty images that show my eyes getting worse each year :xf.sick:
However on the bright side....
  • I can still type up a storm!! :xf.smile: (as you have probably all noticed, and at times groaned about :-P)
So I will stay in domaining for a while!!

Being serious, I think @equity78 gave a superb answer above. If you no longer have passion for domains and are not keeping up with things, it is time to move on, I would say.

Bob

Excellent, thats inspirational!
Thanks.

These not redneck bunkers you see on the news

This is a great thread so my apologies for moving to the side a bit but just wanted to share that I am in negotiations for a name for a 'bunker community' at this moment. These things are real...the fun part is the starving masses will eventually break in and consume those that have been gorging on bon-bons for a couple years! :xf.smile:

stop buying domains?

To answer your question, one can stop buying domain names Only - If you are a Domainer by profession (only to earn money) - There can be a deadline and you can give up.

But If you are a Domainer by heart (its your passion) - You can Never Stop buying Domains, you will always think about a new Domain idea whenever you eat, work or sleep!

Stop buying domains when you stop selling them for profit. Or when other investments perform better.

Looking at this from business perspective my opinion is when your portfolio becomes sizable with no sales for a year. Unless this is a fun hobby and you are not trying to turn a profit.
