.tv Are there any moderators in this forum anymore?

I love .tv, I love the publicity from the auction, What I don't love is how this forum has run a muck. It looks like everyone feels as though they can post whatever they like where ever they like. For years forum etiquette was maintained, sales threads go in the marketplace, you could not comment on sales thread. Appraisal threads went in that section and general discussion her and so on. Now it seams like you can post pretty much where ever you like, shamelessly promote your names with blatant disregard for the rules. For the longest time you could not even post Sedo links in the marketplace, now np members are posting everywehere every few minutes for fear of not selling their names for high enough. Its called domaining. I hope as a forum we can all clean up our act, especially now that the cat is out of the bag. More and more domainers are going to be investing and paying attention, behave like you have been here before.

However, we have had three weeks of 'very special days' where most people have been very excited!

And with good reason. DID anyone else notice what happened today?

Give me three weeks of profitable bedlam over two years of unprofitable etiquette ANYTIME.

I personally will be cleaming up my act 0- and I assume everyone else will too!

i posted a thread yesterday, which was removed because a replier to the thread attacked me.
instead of the mod removing their comment, they just removed my thread.

and didn't even bother to notify me with a reason beforehand or immediately after.

since it was about .tv and their are soooo many .tv lovers here, unless every post is in favor of the extension...then you get blackballed and kicked out of chat.

so, now i get infraction worth 5 points for violating rule 1.1

but i guess it's up to each "respective" mod and how they interpret and inforce the rules...

and whether or not that member is a fave of their's.

imo...

hey, you know you're right...but could you see it in your heart to cut us a little slack?

I think we did rather well, all in all...bent the rules a tad during this time period, but I think the ship never really veered off course, it didn't hit an iceberg at any rate.

So things should get back to speed and they will. I just have no intention of getting anal about what goes where. I do not want anarchy, but neither do I desire pompousness or arrogance disguised as professionalism.

We are a looser contingent and probably proud of the fact that we do not fall in line all the time. We like making money AND having fun. But don't worry, we are not anarchists, either, so we do follow the rules as much as our emotions will allow.

Yes, Ray did a fantastic job. I miss those days.

Just so everyone knows, I am not against promoting and selling domains. I'm not a forum Nazi!

If you want to get exposure for your personal auction or sales thread, you can acheive the same effect by placing a link in your signature. Then you can post relevant, hopefully helpful information in any thread and get all the exposure you need, rather than hijacking other threads for your own puroses.

I am in agreement of the kudos Ray righteously deserves, no arguement there.

However...I refuse to dismiss the fine efforts of the present moderators. It takes more than one to do what one did, but I feel that they are doing admirably as can be expected, especially balancing the diverse and separate personalities of all the members involved here...they deserve a fair shake and we can't whine about what used to be.

happier days are here so wtf are we crying about with the mods? Take a chill pill and enjoy the jubilant atmosphere that we possess and CAN'T be taken away from us right now!

I appluad your post. I do not intend to dismiss the time and work that the current moderators have put in. Balancing any forum is very difficult. I would like to believe that as a community; namepros, .tv domainers, and simply as domainers that we might find the will to keep ourselves in check.

Unfortunately once all this commotion took place, many people have seemingly lost all common sense, thus I ask "Are there any moderators in this forum anymore?" since we can't seem to keep ourselves in line.

was given for the amount of duplicate threads, links, sales, appraisals etc
we saw them all, but let you guys go on.......and on....
but then the rest of the crap started, and you/we know it always does.
complaints, reports, threads of "where's the mods"

I guess that means you guys have had enough now too?

Yesterday for example - there was a member who posted about 10 Appraisal threads
in .tv and around the forum, of a bunch of .tv domains that he didn't even own, heck, they
weren't even registered... :o
no one even checked out the domains, something that would have been caught by the
members here a few months ago

About the posting sales links, I was at fault, and I apologize.
I have seen members have clickable links to many auctions throughout the entire NP Forum and I actually guess I forgot that that was even a rule.

The added excitement of .TV sure has been incredible since March 18th.
Definitely a Chapter in Domaining for the History Books!

I created a couple of threads and we had I'd say 40 Members and probably 6-700-ish .TV names to create an alternate auction that really caused a LOT of excitement leading to today.

I am sorry that some Members here feel that the forum has run amuck but maybe they didn't feel the "electric" in the air of .TV land, because they came to the party a little late?? Not sure, but hopefully they can loosen up a bit and enjoy the moment too. Hopefully.

Who Knows, But I am sure everyone is ending this Chapter of .TV past now having a smile on their face looking in to the .TV Future!
