Hello there, I've been looking through some auctions offsite and have seen various one-word Spanish domain names for sale. I was wondering if it is worth my time and money investing and flipping one-word Spanish domains (in specific .COM & .NET extensions). Are there any huge past sales of one-word Spanish domains? If so, please let me know.

Just recently, I acquired Dulces.NET (Spanish for candy)

Thanks

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I just got RABienes /com - for realidad aumentada bienes - real estate, etc.
A long shot, at this early point in both AR and Spanish-language .coms, but worth a shot.
I hope

I have ajís.com which means Chillies or Peppers. Just wondering if it's worth anything with the Spanish í making it an Internationalized Domain name . .

Non-English language domains offer probably right now better opportunities than English language domains with all the competition on them. You won't (most likely) make millions by selling domains that are not in English - but realistically most aren't going to make that on them either.

The reason why the competition for Spanish domains is much lower than that for English domains is that the end user demand for Spanish domains is (currently) anemic. Could that change with growing internet penetration? Perhaps. But I still see a lot of end users relying on social media accounts rather than having true websites.

I hand registered two for a website that I already launched. Pretty good traffic already.

What I like to do, is take something from conception to website based business, quickly. I've done this for sales of cosmetics, herbal products, jewelry, electronics and computers/laptops, even novelty items, also for online blogs, consulting sites, and forums.

Here is one of the just launched Spanish websites:
This one isn't quite completed. It is a blog of four Latina sisters. However even though not completed one of the sisters has a following on Instagram so her traffic there has already started to bring traffic over to her pages and the site in general, which I've noted via Google Analytics.

hermanasblog.com

the intention is for English and Spanish posts although so far the posts have been mostly English.

I hand registered the domain name. It took a bit to find something that worked, and was available. In Spanish the word blog is also...blog! so the domain name seemed perfect.

As with all of my blog and forum sites, I have an underlying complete website, that then connects to a blog or in this case blogs, or forum.

I have a number of Spanish .com domains, they do sell but for noticeably lower prices (vs. non-Spanish synonyms), and, from statistical point of view, more frequently to US-based buyers and not to Spain ( and almost never to Latin America ). May be worth investing in, as some political and demographical reports suggest that U.S. may soon become predominantly Spanish-speaking country (and becoming already, afaik callers to many 1-800 numbers in U.S. already hear "Para español presione dos"). One needs to speak Spanish though to invest better, I do and it really helps

Never saw this thread. Nice. I do have spanish domains and over the past year been collecting quite a few of “los dominios” and for projects and co-development. It is sort of a long term project some of it is to help boost the local economic conditions.

I agree with the soft market, however with the entire latin american and spanish speaking world with a smartphone now (versus 3 years ago with no computer or internet in their home), I am betting on it. Time will tell, I recently did some in person sales calls, all for fun and networking.

Latin America is buying Amazon now too, through local fulfillment by agents. What is difference is that in the USA you can’t find a store that repairs a radio or buy shoelaces retail. However retail still lives and will continue to live in Latin America IMO. Online is still being developed. I get notices in spanish for wordpress courses and events too.

Most people seem to spend time on facebook though, and its so easy to create a website, I even see medical clinics and hospitals with no website, only facebook.

I am experimenting with .si extension - if you consider what .me, .tv, .co, .io have already done, then perhaps .si is great opportunity for Spanish language web territory :) In any case - still plenty room for premium Spanish KWs - an idea is that "right of the dot" means simple "yes".

Here is my current list, if anybody interested... :

ABOGADOS.SI
ANILLOS.SI
APARTAMENTOS.SI
APUESTAS.SI
BEBES.SI
BIENESRAICES.SI
BINGO.SI
CARROS.SI
CASAS.SI
CELULAR.SI
COMPRAS.SI
COSMETICOS.SI
FUTBOL.SI
GLOBO.SI
HOROSCOPO.SI
HOROSCOPOS.SI
JOYAS.SI
JUGUETES.SI
JUSTICIA.SI
MUJERES.SI
PISOS.SI
PIZZERIA.SI
PORNO.SI
PROSTATA.SI
REGALOS.SI
RELOJES.SI
RESULTADOS.SI
ROPA.SI
TAROT.SI
TEL.SI
TELECOM.SI
TRABAJOS.SI
TVS.SI
VIAJES.SI
VUELOS.SI

- some showcase names, but many more still available for registration ...
- and anybody can register .si domains without limitations
- SI is Slovenian extension and Slovenia is an EU member state
