I am noticing the prices for 4 letter dot com names are going down since last fifteen days. Random nmes are disdained to sell for $100 each.

Still CVCV names are getting higher prices. But supplies are very limited.

I was looking for cheaper names at NamePros, Namejet, DropCatch, Godaddy Marketplaces/Auctions, nowhere they are available for $100.

What should be our strategy? Should we sell them at such lower prices or hold them till we get a fair price? Till recently we used to sell a random 4 letter name with J and Q for $150, but now it is $100.

Please share your valuable thoughts.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Good quality 4L's always retain value and will only appreciate over time.

Also, the shorter the name, you'll notice type in traffic.

When market is tough (which currently is) you'll see some sub par sales where people liquidate or make panic sales, it's normal and happens all the time!

“Zive” is a “CVCV.com” LLLL.com domain.
Do you understand the significance of this?
Wholesale value of these is still thousands in NP and is only second to “word llll” like “chill.com” etc my favorite
What's the difference between CVCV and LLLL names?

Okay. I hope you now understand it too?
what so freaking special abiut CVCV - 4L is llll

I have sent a list of my 4L to the buyers who wanted CVCV and they bought something else from what they were looking for...

It is like you go to the supermarket and on your list is you just get milk but on your way out, you get ice cream, cookies, nuts and others

Indeed funny. Likely, perception changed and impulse buying took charge.

CVCV = An LLLL.com that follows a Consonant, Vowel, Consonant, Vowel Pattern.
VCVC = An LLLL.com that follows a Vowel, Consonant, Vowel, Consonant Pattern.
Triple Letter = 3 of the same letter in the same LLLL.com. An example of this is : LLLX.com.
Quad premium = 4 Premium Letters. Basically, 4 letters of which none consist of J,K,Q,U,V,W,X,Y,Z.
Triple premium = 3 Premium Letters.
Semi-Premium = When used in an LLLL.com context, generally used to denote an LLLL.com with 3 premium letters and one lesser quality letter (J,K,U,V,W,Y). Also used to denote a single letter which is of lesser quality (J,K,U,V,W,Y).
Double Premium = 2 Premium Letters.
Anti-Premium (also called Non-Premium) = 1 or less Premium Letters. Sometimes used to denote excessively bad combinations.

Cheers
Corey

Yes, of course, but auction price is way too high... not a good investment at all imo.

I understand, but $20k is a bit aggressive imo would have sold for mid 4 figures a couple years ago.
Zive is interesting.

First things first, it was a GoDaddy auction, was someone playing games? Will there be a rollback.

Secondly maybe someone saw the developed website at Zive.io hoping they want to move to .com one day.

Or Zive Inc that uses an odd domain name https://www.linkedin.com/company/zive-inc-

Zive.net sold for $1,625 a couple years ago.

Why do you make it complicated?

Agree 100%, what does it matter if its CVCV if the domain you have makes no sense whatsoever? It's like when people say "JQZM" is "pronounceable", ummm... no... and it's also not "premium"... I wish people would stop using those 2 words... :xf.rolleyes:

Namebio is not fake data
It is absolutely fake data and here in an example I just pulled right off recent sales...
occri.net6,600 USD2023-11-10GoDaddy

Now lets think about this... why would you pay $6,600 when the .com is aval right now on GD auctions...

No person in there right mind would buy the .net for that much if the .com is aval... I could go on for days with examples like this... this is just one right of the namebio homepage...

Getting some wires crossed there

It's an example of how namebio is fake data, you don't think you can fake a 4L the same way? C'mon...

Well that's not Namebio being fake, there could be a game being played as we see with a couple bidders playing games and then rollbacks like @Michael has shown. Now the .net was developed
Domain Rating
44
Backlinks
757
84% dofollow
Linking websites
233
82% dofollow

$6600 seems high for that link profile but maybe someone playing games to get a DR 44 rated site. We now wait for the rollback.

I understand its not namebio publishing the fake data, not there fault by any means they just take the info from external sales and publish it, my issue is these people are "selling" there domains for a premium only for a few weeks later that name to pop back up at the same price, or less, so when others look it up they go... "WOW THAT'S A STEAL"

If you still don't really get it:

The value of CVCV has to do with possible end user purchases.

Among the possible combinations of 4Ls, CVCV offers one of the strongest combinations to potentially be a premium brand, after CVVC.

CVCV is often equivalent to, or better than, a double vowel in the center. But CVVC s with the same vowel twice seems strongest of the 4Ls, to me. "Google" and "Yahoo" are examples of the desirability of having a double vowel in a brand; it’s very memorable and playful. Also, "Goop."

i think meaningful LLLLs are good investment. So grab them.

4L prices shot up rapidly and peaked very recently so per some mathematical law you wouldn't expect them to reach a new peak any time soon, but rather you would expect them to drop to some new minimum that lies between the old minimum and the recent new maximum.
