How would one just approach a domain investor?

Would one just email them, name a low price, and wait for a response?

Well as long as 'not as optimal' means at least breaking even and making a few quid I'm fine with that. Should I waste my time trying to sell my so-so domains–the mistakes of a begginer–or drop them and focus on better acquisitions?

Without knowing the domains, I'd just be guessing. But if they are beginners mistakes you might auction them off on NamePros with $1 start and increment. If they don't sell, then drop them. You are not going to sell domains without good quality domains to begin with. You need quite a keen eye for domains, to register, or buy on the drop, domains which will sell. Most won't sell. IMHO. Only buy/sell .com domains.

I would not drop hitofweed.com. I would hit some people up for it. The world is going weed-wacky. It's not too long of a domain.

Don't waste your time contacting Domain Investors unless you have really Top class Domain Name like lll.com or one word dictionary domain, High search volume EMD, or Exact Product Name and you want to sell it for a very low price. Domain Investors have very high expectaions
