Hi there,

I just joined the forum today and would like your opinion on what these 5 domains are worth.

None of them have been developed. Though I have been thinking about developing www.photomonkey.com myself.

I have received several offers on photomonkey.com and designmonkey.com and would like to know how much you would be willing to give for each of these domains if you were to buy them. I think they are great names and very memorable. All TLDs for photomonkey are taken and designmonkey.net and designmonkey.org are registered and "live".

When it comes to proxo.com I find it easy to remember. However, I would like to hear your opinion on how to best target this domain.

I think onlineid.com is self explanatory. I just got it a couple of weeks ago, and I am looking to selling it, so an estimate to its value is greatly appreciated.

a quick question...

ATM.
PhotoMonkey.com/net - Brandable, low $xx ATM.
DesignMonkey - same
Proxo.com - Low $xx, but VERY VERY brandable!
OnlineID.com - mid-high $xx.
ATM.
When you you say low $xx, what do you mean? do you have a specific figure in mind, like less than $100 or what? :-/

Sorry this is my first day in this forum, so I am just trying to understand how the estimates work.

Anyway, thanks for commenting. I agree with you that the domain names are very brandable.

it is 06:25 AM so I am going to bed now.

Any other opinions as to how much these domains are worth?

Hi thanks for the feed back.

I was wondering if everybody agrees with the only estimate I have received so far.

I some what believe they are worth more, but maybe I need a reality check.

Please, do give me your opinion on their value I promise I won't get offended.

This is strange

I have received offers up to mid $xxxx for photomonkey.com
and low $xxxx designmonkey.com but at the time I was not interested in selling photomonkey.com, as I was and still am thinking about building a page there myself.

The same is true to designmonkey.com, though I know I won't have time to do anything with this domain for a long time, as I have some other more urgent projects to do. I would sell it if I got a good offer. The last offer I got was $160 but I felt it was not enough, as I would only have made a profit of about $50.

onlineID.com is the site with the greatest potential in my opinion, as data protection is a crucial aspect of the internet. Afterall every single day some one ends being conned directly or suffering indirectly, as their credit card or other info is misused.

Sorry I did not mean to say that I sold it. I just meant to say that the highest offer I got for photomonkey.com was mid $xxxx.

In fact the guy seemed to be quite desperate to acquire it. His first offer was around $1000 then he kept raising it till about $4500.

This was one of the first domains that bought. So at the time I had no idea of the actual value it had. I thought that "ok, if I don't sell it today I may sell it another day". Now in retrospect I see that it was an excelent price. Though, I am not too bothered about not selling it. I did not have the intention to resell it when I first bought it...

This is why I also paid the registration fee for 10 years at the time
sorry I did not realise that I had written $xxxxx for designmonkey.com, I meant $xxxx

Still, that seems a little high?
Where do you sell your domains at?

You didn't take $xxxx for those 2 names.... D-:
I'd say if those were real offers, they're the best ones you'll ever get for them. I'd be writing them back and saying, "Still wanna buy?"
They hold very little value IMO, because someone could just as easily buy PhotoZebra or PhotoGorilla... use you imagination.
They are somewhat brandable, but I don't see them going for more than $100 a piece.
OnlineID I like a little more. It could easily be used an marketed as an Online age verification program/website for the adult industry or the online banking industry. I would say hold on to this one for a little while, you may see offers on it of up to mid $xxx or more.

Good Luck

Well the high offer I got for photomonkey was indeed very good. Unfortunately, at the time (2 years ago) I was a complete newbie and did not know the market value of photomonkey.com :'(. I have recently received an offer of $600 for it as I have it parked on sedo. I must say that at the moment I am just parking it, it is not really for sale. Though, I kept it on sale to see what people are willing to give for it.

However, if somebody offers me $4500 today, then I would accept.

I have all my domains parked for sale on sedo.
However, at the time I got the high bid for photomonkey (2 years ago), I had it for sale on a crap web page I had made. It was my first "website" made on FrontPage.

I know, nothing to brag about.

Whilst all the domains are decent none have a value higher than reg fee.....it's like me getting photozebra....all can be developed and have the same potential, a domain is what you make it...not the other way around.

Sounds like a Fake bidder if you ask me. I have gotten insane offoers on domains before that then they just vanished. I am not sure why

PhotoMonkey.com is really nice..
apparently it's worth at LEAST $4500 for that is what you have been offered.. so any appraisal under $4500 is incorrect, imo.. as you have been offered $4500..
I personally, prob. would have accepted that offer.. but i'm not you.. and you may do well to hold out for a higher offer..

i love PROXO.com but i do have a love for made up original ~ creative names, which flow well.. and have excellent type in recall when heard.. and proxo.com is one of them..

all the best!

While I agree with you that photomonkey.com is not any better than any "photo" + animal type + .com I must say that photomonkey sounds more fun than photozebra IMHO. But it is probably because I have grown used to the name.

Yes in many ways it does sound like fake bids. However now it is impossible to know as I never accepted any bids.

The problem with domain names is that their value is very subjective. Some people have more money than others, and some domain names appeal more to some people than to other. Thus the value is very subjective for example if you have a look at sedo in the recent sales you will find that ahmadinejad.com was sold for โ‚ฌ7000. Now who would have thought that some guy's name was worth that much?

The monkey domains have good branding potential, but it's unlikely that anyone starting a business in these areas would be willing to pay a good chunk of change. 4500 a couple years ago? Seems real odd for me given the state of the domain market at the time. You'd really be playing a huge game of luck to wait on an offer of that size again. I'd say either of them, if you aren't hurting for cash, take an offer of $500+. (My median sale for brandable domains that are easily replacable is $400 this year.)

Proxo.com is nice - without doing any research on any current possible uses, if there are no tm/possible tm confusion issues... if you actively get this domain out there, it could be the best of the bunch. I'd say 1500-2000 CMV.

OnlineID.com - depends on how quick of a sale you are looking for. Long-term hold might give it $2k, but I doubt short-term would be over mid $XXX. I've seen a number of very similar domains drop and not get picked up recently.

You had asked if we were to buy them, what would we pay. Personally, of the above, if I saw any of them drop - Proxo.com would be the only one I'd have considered paying reg fee for. Given the risk-return ratio on it, I wouldn't go higher than 25-30 because it is a long-shot sale.

Good luck with them!
