To bad I sent a reply "before" i saw this thread....

Kevin,

Thank you for your interest in Mydomain.xx

I am currently only accepting "offers" on the name, I just recently obtain the domain name and at this time I do not have enough feedback to know its value.

If you would like to cut through the red tape and make me a reasonable offer, I can supply you with an answer within a few hours.

Thank You for your time.

Hey folks.

I also got this email. It's coming from CreativeMedia.us There based in REgo PArk in NY which does seem like a raeasonable News/Media business estate.

I noticed there also using Gmail

This was for : Update.Us

I wrote back with a figure....so we can see. I think it's unlikely anything will come of it, but we'll see.

Any updates, let us know....

hmmm, if you notice, the 2 emails come from different Gmail accounts.

One is from [email protected] and the second is [email protected]

*shrugs* Maybe it is/was legit.....

Hey SY4,

Did you also get the follow up email claiming problems with his gmail account?

I got both of the exact same same e-mails with the same bodies as .edu. Both came from the same e-mail though.
[email protected].
I haven't replied yet.
Went to their site, CreativeMedia.com.
Kinda barebones as far as info is concerned.

I don't think Yakov would be spamming.
What would he want with my dinky little .biz name.

Maybe it isnt a "dinky" domain ;)

The value is in the eye of the buyer ;)

That's true but it be interesting to see what kind of reply comes back to cinran...if any.

I visited their website creativemedia.com & clicked on services and this is what is there.

At the moment, Creative Media does not offer any services to third parties or public. We only serve ourselves, our strategic partners and affiliates. However, we welcome business proposals from other companies. We are experts in web marketing and branding with a number of projects and a significant inventory of high profile domain names. We will gladly consider an affiliation possibility with serious parties.
Whether you are a web marketing professional and looking for well-converting products to promote, a company that offers well-selling product and seek affiliates or a company that wants to sell any kind of web property, please do let us know.

A google search of CreativeMedia.com shows

creativemedia.com. | Domain Name Registration
and Domain Name Forwarding by 000Domains.

Clicking on Find web pages that contain the term "creativemedia.com"is an even more interesting time.
It shows that Creative media is owned by Universal Media - (UM.com) a Japanese company.

Ron Jackson of Domain name Journal makes reference to "Yakov Yukhananov of CreativeMedia.com" brokering a deal.

Who knows? Time will tell I guess.

Interesting netPH. And it makes a lot of sense.
As I said in a previous reply I can't see Yakov looking for my dinky .biz domain or spamming anyone.

Thanks for the info.

I also got 2 emails from this creative media, and made replies to them. No further response so far.

I haven't got anything.. then again I have all my domains under whois guard (since I got the whois guard subs. free with the domains).

I'[ve had 2 and responded to to. I can confirm that it is Yakov playing silly buggers apparently from the reasearch i've done.

*shrugs*. apparently a generally mixed view of good and bad. some hate, some love. I would assume the bias is to their "Partners and Affiliates". They dont deal with "third parties or the public" yet surely that's exactly what there doing...lol

Anyhows...we shall see. I#ll keep an eye on the domain and account jkust to be safe. No harm no foul, just an email so far.

any marketing comes my way tho, ther'll be trouble :)

I got it only for good domains
Can you tell me for what domains you got this mail
So we can see if there is any domain without value,

I don´t think any spam program can sort good and bad domains

Single.info
xxl.us
lottery.biz
hiphop.info

It would be able to go through pure 3 characters and do dictionary searches. Those you have listed are either 1) pure 3 characters or 2) to be listed in an online or offline dictionary.

Mine was for CalorieCounter.biz
I think it's a pretty good name but definitely not in Yakov's sights. lol

I got it for NudeArt.biz. Ol' Yakov is up to something, if this is really him and not someone out to ruin his rep.

You can't tell if its really him, unless he confirms by responding email sent to an @creativemedia.com email address.

I received 5 of them. I replied thinking the first two may have been legit, but then after seeing 3 more, started having questions. All also had the double message about a failed mailbox and appeared to be from gmail accounts.

I received the mail for the domains:
asteroids.info
shopathome.biz
fish.us
bartending.info
employmentagency.info

All are pretty good domains in my opinion, so there may be some selective targeting.

My header from info shows it's not from gmail, but is as follows:

Received: from [217.160.251.120] (helo=u15154901.onlinehome-server.com)...
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
Subject: shopathome.biz
From: <[email protected]>

onlinehome-server.com leads to a 1&1 web page.

Tracing back the listed IP listed as sender shows:

217.160.251.120

There are two domains also hosted on that IP, doghouse.com and enomaccount.com.

My feeling at this point is it's a whois mass emailing, similar to the ones the appraisal scammers are popular for. I'm not familiar with this Yakov guy, but it certainly looks to me like he's behind it or being made to appear so.

In any respect, the sender has violated several things legitimate business people shouldn't such as spamming from whois data, falsifying where the mail is from, saying they are using gmail when they are not, etc. Therefore, I don't believe it's legit until I get a cash payment into my account.

could be that Yakov is just fishing for bargains, but I don't like the method being used.

I received the same email from Yakov for my name
wholesalefurniture.biz

I believe Yakov is just playing with our heads. What he wants is the attention. Remember when he did the ebay aunction...he was selling all of these amazing domains. But he had no intention of selling them. He just wanted to get the high rollers involved just so that his domail portfolio would get some ATTENTION. I think he is doing the same thing with Creative Media. He might just be advertising his company with no intention of even buying our names. Also just by us starting this thread and talking about it, he is getting recognition. He is very very smart. Be on your toes!

Might be true but I don't think so. I do remember the ebay auction & all of the attention it garnered for him though. I think the people he wants to know him...know him. I've only been doing this for a year & a half but I knew who he was shortly after I started by looking over the names he would post. He only plays with a small percentage of the upper domainers anyway.

I think he's being spoofed, but I am definitely curious.

IMHO

I did not mention this in my last reply but Iit is not just the high rollers he wants He wants people like me and you because we are the future of this domain business. It doesn't matter if the Domain King himself is coming to one of Yakov's sites. His click is as valueable as my click. It is all about WOM, that is the best way of advertising. Plus we are all posting the names that he wanted in the emails he sent to us. So if he buys those names, there will already be traffic from all of us who read this thread and who will read it in the future. That is my take!

I doubt Yakov would do this unless he was really interested in those names, since alot of people might just consider it spam and toss it.
