Hi, does anyone know of a sale or discount at any registrar for transfering over 1,000 domains?

yahoo has a 2 dollar sale but it is only for new members and only for 1 domain
godaddy has a 2 dollar sale but only with a non-domain item so it equals to over $6
I saw that registerfly had a $4 dollar per domain sale a while back

Is there any other sales or discounts anywhere?

Thank you

Firstly, stay far far far away from Registerfly. They are being shut down for massive fraud. Use the search box in the upper right of the page if you want more information.

Domains cost the registrars $6.22 each for .coms, regardless of how many they buy. The registrar has costs beyond that. So anyone offering domain names at or below that price has some other method in mind of getting paid - either selling you hosting, or renewals or something.

One good deal is Moniker's Namepros member special (welcome to NP!). You have to email them and ask for it. They offer $6.95 for .coms - new regs, renewals and transfers.

The owner of Godaddy is determined to be the biggest and sometimes offers at- or below-cost registrations, but often these do not apply to renewals or transfers, check the Godaddy coupons thread.

Contact someone in sales at the major registrars. For 1000 transfers in some will give you near cost on the transfers, probably somewhere between $6 and $6.50. They will do so to get the business in hopes you will register and renew there in the future. This is something you won't see in print, but something many will do to build their market share on a case by case basis.

EMAIL Godaddy, Namecheap, Moniker, especially GD, you will find some decent offer :)

For transferring 1000 domains, it might be best to use the telephone to get your best rate. Telephone is more professional than email and often gets a better response. Ring Namecheap, Moniker & GoDaddy. Resellerclub (Directi) allows bulk purchases of $6.49 per name. I wouldn't recommend them but it may be useful to ask if they can match the price.

Thank you very much, godaddy won't budge under $6 for me, I will ask namecheap, does anyone know how namecheap's bulk domain management is? godaddy has a great bulk editor, so it is worth it to pay a few cents more if namecheap doesn't have a capable bulk admin. If anyone hears of those 24 hour sales or has a great discount coupon, I could really use it! :)

thank you

yes Namecheap has bulk admin stuff, almost all registrars should have bulk admin.

I would say, it depends on what you wanna do with your 1000 domains. do you plan to develop it ?

or do you plan to resell 1000 of them ?

If you plan to develop it, then godaddy's pricing is very suitable for you.

If you plan to resell all of them, use namecheap. Because at namecheap, 1 push of a button is all it takes to push a domain. As easy as that. It saves you and your buyer tons of work. However, there is an extra price(few cents) to pay for such quality service.

Just remember that you get what you pay for from registrars. Saving a few dollars now could result is large headaches later...
