first thing people see is the fact it is only one letter name and it makes people bid to have it (there were 3 bidders)
it is rare, so it is a colectible item; just 26 letters and 10 numbers in each extension whatever it is (and we know we dont have 1 letter/number available/reg'd in all extensions)
in some years (5, 10, 15 i dont know) when internet has many more people than today and all kind of small names are gone (i said when as i think LLLLL are small ones), ccTLDs will be an obvious option for those who dont have money to buy a dot com (today some names are already expensive, imagine what can happen in the future )
people buying one letter/number ccTLD think like this or they think these names are colectible items; i agree they have value but their liquidity is not like gTLDs of course
