Let's see if some sites will be developed... Most of these xyz stays at same dns.

Most of her sales in the past are now live much better proposition compare to other domain extensions. Please check (use .xyz after these names) Agora, Gild, Squid, Tribes, Metaphor, Flip, Optics, Paradigm (just for your information this one is $2.5 billion company and they preferred XYZ extension) and many more...

She has established herself as one stop shop for XYZ domains and people from related sectors know this. A big achievement, just check Twitter specially people working in the DAO, NFTs & Crypto sectors and you will find many examples. She spent more than 5 years in building such portfolio, trusted in extension when no one and therefore she deserve all successes. More power to her...

I am learning everyday and building small XYZ portfolio and wishing her continue success as it will only help domainers like me.

Best wishes!

She has more than 19000 xyz domain names. This info is easily available to anyone who can type dngear.com (not .xyz through)) into the url. She won't stop posting sales, because with this info she provokes interest and attention, so more and more people jump on xyz train, thus fewer names available and more buzz about the subject will instigate her sales even more. That's a smart move, I'd do the same.

Her sales indeed sound like ''wow'' numbers, however it is very much unclear how much she is making in reality. Sure she keeps most of her portfolio for years and it's unknown how much she spent BEFORE starting to make all these sales (and renewals are at $10, not at $0.99). Very little sales were recorded in 2019, for example.

Now, whether or not .xyz has a future. My opinion is that it will never become a new .com, but sales will go up, as the world digitalizes more and more, this tld is backed by large tech companies (alphabet.xyz etc), and imo somewhat of a decline of traditional and long time .com neighbours such as .net and .biz. It's unclear how fast it will grow, though.

Personally, I got a bit more than 120 xyz domains (one-two words and some 4-letters). I consider that investment to be a very small one, but definitely worth it, to see and monitor the situation with this TLD for next year. I wasn't even motivated with huge sales of DNGear, but more with @Bob Hawkes article on .xyz sales, and some analysis of my own. Let's see.

Happy domaining to all!

Unreal.xyz is for sale.
If they haven't already sold to proper end-users, most well-known dictionary words .xyz are either reserved by the registry (with crazy one-time/renewal fees) or owned by @DNGear.

Very well deserved DNGear - all your hard work (and time) you have put into the last 5 years are finally paying off. Very happy for you.

Don't price lower just because it's a two word. Two word domains make great brands. Your sales are probably taking xyz to the next level. If you start selling two words for those higher prices, you'd be doing everybody investing in xyz a favor..

Congrats..

I think overall with sales she posts her roi aftr renewals end of year is still very good... I'm gonna take wild guess and say 200k minimum net profit per year... just guess.

but like I said.. it's a one person show.. which is why u see only her posting regular 4 and 5fig sale.. others just get lucky once in blue moon..with exactly zero regularity...

personally I do not see because of her monopoly that anyone else will be making good xyz big profits..

and I do not see 2word xyz.becoming ever a thing.. as in.. regular 4fig or 5fig salss like she does

this is imo why I keep telling all not to rely on her sales or follow her idea.. because u will never have these results. look elsewhere
..there are plenty of opportunities.. niches etc in domaining

cheers

Honestly, I don't agree that it's a one-man show (or, rather, one-woman) and ''nothing to see here'' - not at all. Same could have been said above dot com. (too late, the train is gone etc).

The xyz sold not only one-words (although true that they are dominant so far), the 2-words are taken off, look at NameBio this year (and all are $XXXX, not $XXX): FutureProof, LeaderBoard, SeedFund, ClubHouse, WorkSpaces etc. And it accelerates. Also, many brand words - Kenji, Vesper...
Obviously you have to be very careful, picking words, they should be popular, with tens of extensions taken and thousands of searches...It has to be something popular (or cool brandable). The very average 2-word dot com that trades in $1500 now, - will never sell in xyz this year, that's for sure. Also, more than 1-word for the end user it's a niche game so far: meta, crypto, startups, NFT, tech..

Generally I believe there is still plenty of room on this train (but ''cold-bloded'' analysis should apply)).

I can only assume that the down vote is because I haven't been obsequious enough for someone's liking...?

Unreal is a good thing, a compliment...

Can someone tell me, the reason behind this sudden .xyz craze? I didn't follow it.

Web3. The big decentralization wave is coming (DeFi, DApps, DAOs, DEX, NFTs, etc.)

Can someone tell me, the reason behind this sudden .xyz craze? I didn't follow it.

It's really a "non-COM craze".

Companies all want a core brand, usually a word or 3 or 4-letter acronym, and as the .COM is already taken or priced into the stratosphere, these companies move down the list from .CO/.IO to .AI to etc. and finally... .XYZ.

I call it the "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" movement, where a WORD.io is viewed as preferable to WORD+WORD.com. When the .IO is gone, the .CO priced too high, and moving on down the line, that .XYZ at $10K starts looking pretty good.

Not sure about the money laundering, but obviously the PR is an important driving force behind this particular engine. Nothing wrong with that though imho.
Do you think Google & Twitter CEOs are influenced by the PR activities & accordingly decided their parent companies domains ABC.xyz, Block.xyz, Spiral.xyz.

Do you still think a venture capital company of US$ 2.5 Billion doesn't have sufficient fund to acquire .com or .io or .co and therefore compromised with xyz extension and settled with Paradigm.xyz ?

I am really surprised even experienced domainers are not able to find the meaning of xyz and why it is on demand. Nothing is permanent on this world, change is inevitable better to acknowledge & adopt it. Thanks

truth of matter is which u may miss if new..that beside her nobody else is reporting regular or any for that matter 5fig
or even 4fig sales...that is a fact no wishful thinking can change..

we all wish it was different and that 100s or even 10s of us could just invest in xyz at 20cent a pop and make her profit numbers.. but it just isnt happening

and no it's not the same as.com..com is not xyz... and bestcardealer.com will always have value whereas bestcardealer.xyz will never even sell for nothing

u get the point I'm sure

but hey 20cents a pop... feel free to test it yerself with 10k 2word names..cause everything 1word and decent is her folio not yours. :)

thnk logically..if one person has 15k names or so... what's left for others... remember 2 worders in xyz is nothing like com...if swetha doesnt really report 2 word sales.. maybe she has no 2worders..not sure

anyway.. at lest someone is making good roi with xyz
...so it's good.. it's just not 10s or 100s of people... her sales are turning heads and domainers aren't stupid.. if there was opportunity there then they would go for it.. for xyz... but they know there is no opportunity..and only room for one big good folio person.. that's xyz. just accept the fact only she has won the xyz jackpot.. and move on.
Few years ago there were tons of one word .xyz domains dropping but very few had foreseen the potential for it instead bashing the xyz domains are worthless, too bad it’s now hard to find a single word domain, but now you have chance to stash some good two words .xyz domain but would you wait for 5 years like Swetha did? Would you dare to bet that a good two words .xyz domains could sell for 5 figures in next 3-5 years? I remember 2 years ago I was hoping for my single word .xyz can sell for 1-3k but now I can sell them for 10-50k or more.

Maybe in next 10 years 1 pc dictionary .xyz worth $1M :)

After posting sales i am spending around 1K to acquire a good single keywords in .xyz. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Shouldn't we kept the sales secret?
In situations like this, arm yourself with this simple quote of wisdom. Quote unquote:

"You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks"
- Winston S. Churchill

In other words, Just ignore the naysayers and move on.

Unbelievable!
As if you would not believe in the sales omg.

Get ready for a downvote attack. That wasn't nice enough... say something nicer, quick!!

lol I'm joking my friend. Even the slightest whiff of doubt and the XYZ cohorts go mad.

I'm still trying to work out how this could be downvoted, but it has.
Ouch! OK, my friend! My bad!

Because .xyz ends in alphabet it makes sense and it’s cool, .com looks old school.

Just two bitcoins ($100k for future readers) could register 3d.xyz for the next decade, in tiny $10k yearly installments, and nobody is interested. (Though maybe they will be after this post. :xf.wink:)

How much would 3d.com be worth? $1 million? $10 million?

There isn't a single person on the planet who would rather have a name in .xyz over the same name in .com, and we all know it.

Edit: why don't typed smileys work?
I rather want .xyz over .com and new generation will think the same.

To both of you, why?
because people will find out .xyz can be understood as 3D axes which refer to metaverse and the NFT trend brings the new era for artists and as artists they like bold .xyz
