This one at the same level with TEXAS.in, mid $xxx level IMHO, higher for the end buyer!
Good luck!

I wouldn't appraise as high as Texas given the low population (If memory serves me, it's probably around 500,000; among the smallest states by population despite its large size).

May have some interest since Alaska can be somewhat of a tourist destination (especially Alaskan cruises).

I'd say mid $xx.

Things are changing

The way I see it more and more users are getting more and more domain name savvy. That is, they are staring to ask questions like "what does this .info or that .name mean". Over time they eventually guess what is going on, mostly by trial and error surfing. If we are lucky they get the hand of it and happily click into our precious new domain name. But hell, time is precious, some (or most) of them would say, after getting frustrated by surfing by so many of those "damned" parked domains with versions of strange domain extensions, and then try a .com version of the same name for "safety sake". Over time some will realise that .in stands for India. Then the question will be "what the hell does Alaska have to do with India". Since nothing seems apparent to them about that relationship they will promptly type alaska into google again and find something else...

You know, it is so hard to foresee the future potential of such a name. If it came up on one of those domain acutions I might stop and consider it. But then, dismiss it and carry on down the list, especially when I think of all the trouble and confusion it is going to cause. If it came to $2 for the reg fee I might consider it. Then I would just put it on something like fabulous.com and let it rot there until .in became the "in" thing (mind the pun).
