Adult sites and AdSense: Where is the line?

I'm thinking of creating a minisite for:
BirthdayStripper (.) com
I know that google does not allow you to place adsense on adult-content sites... yet I'm wondering exactly where they draw the line? For example, when you google terms like 'exotic dancer' you get google adsense ads on the side, usually having to do with how to hire a stripper/dancer.
So is there a 'soft' area for this?
In other words, if I don't have explicit adult words like Pu**y or F**k on the site, have no porn pics, no vids, and only have an Amazon store with 'stripper clothing', har de har, will it still get killed by google and threaten my adsense account if I have adsense on it?

Appreciate responses from people who KNOW, directly and for sure, about these rules. No guessers please. I can guess... but I can't seem to find any cut and dried outline for what crosses a line according to adsense on adult sites, if there's no explicit adult content/words.

Thanks for any help.

This is one of those "when in doubt, ask Google" situations. Let THEM tell you if your site content is acceptable for Adsense or not . Zero risk if a Google employee "officially" tells you its OK.

I would THINK it should be allright, but it's what they think that matters, and this is so "gray" that I don't think anyone other than Google themselves can make a trustworthy decision about it. On a related note, I recently discovered that the Adwords keyword tool won't return matches with the word "sexy" unless you check the "include adult content" box, so who knows where they draw the line?

I'm not a badass developer like you two (so who am I to give advice right?), but Bannen my man, you have a lot to lose here.

It's not as bad with end user adult sites that have adsense up as supplemental income (their core income being videos, etc.) but why should you risk it when you are making so much money off Google adsense and you have a lot to lose?

Don't risk it. How much will those clicks payout anyways?

Thanks for responses so far;
Enlytend, I would email adsense but they are notoriously too busy to reply to support random enquiries like this. I could go on their adsense forum and ask those members, so maybe that's what I'll do. Note*I didn't know about that 'include adult content' on the keyword tool, ha. I'll have to look for that next visit. It hasn't been important simply because I haven't looked up stats for adult names as minisites.

Bandit, I wouldn't risk my adsense account. That's why I'm doing this research right now. Unless I find some very definite black and white lines regarding what is 'okay' for semi-adult content on a site with adsense, I wouldn't do it. Adsense is also famous for shutting down accounts even for misperceived broken rules, without ever responding to the account holder to debate the issue. So I wouldn't chance that happening.

So far, my feeling is that I won't be able to do the site. I won't be tempted by the fact that this particular one would probably make me in the range of $50 - 100 per month minimum once developed. Some people test the lines, but I don't. Not with adsense, anyway :)

Never heard of them but just checked them out. Their interface looks very friendly/easy and professional. I'll look into them a little more, thx for the tip. Would like to hear from others who use them, so I'll start a thread or look for threads about them in the adult-content area here. Maybe I should have posted this query there instead of here in monetization, but I figured this would be the spot for adsense answers. I'll try the adult area :)

No problem. I tried them out a bit on a few sites, no complaints at all here....regular payment, good ads, etc. I would certainly recommend them.

They're the same folks that run Adbrite, just pornier. ;)

plausabale deniability

"any cut and dried outline for what crosses a line according to adsense on adult sites, if there's no explicit adult content/words."
so that's why they don't ever say anything specific... they will do what they want when they want and target certain companies/websites/webmasters/forum posters."the real world"..welcome to monopoly business operations =bow down.Why attract attention to yourself and become a victim?...INMHO bikini type stuff usually is usually ok .One tip ;if you place ad on that page and you see public service ads ...yo get a clue...... really that is test if the ads stop showing it is probably ng according to god!

Thanks for the further comments; I've actually gotten an account with blacklabelads and will try that route. I'm convinced it's too risky/limiting to try adsense even on a semi-adult site and don't want to even remotely risk my adsense being shut down. Blacklabelads seems even simpler to use than adsense, though looks like not nearly as much versatility in ad block types/sizes. However, their handful of blocks do fit into the standard blocks I now use with adsense so it's no problem. If anyone's interested, I'll update the thread once the minisite's been live for awhile and let you know how blacklabelads performs on it.

Yes, please keep us updated about your experience with BlackLabelAds. I may be interested in doing something similar depending on your results.

Yup, try BLA, google doesn't have relevant advertisments for adult stuff so you might get a) banned, b) have low CTR c) smartprices clicks

if BlackLabelAds doesn't work, you might try JuicyAds, they have decent performance for adult sites.

Thx; google actually does have some relevant ads re: exotic dancers/strippers, mostly about how to book them etc., and that's the only reason I was considering adsense for BirthdayStripper/com; but I'm going to try BLA. Thanks for the tip on JuicyAds, I'll have a peek at them too. Got about 5 sites in line before it, but should have the stripper minisite built before next weekend, will toss an Amazon store on it too.

adult ppc rip off artists

they will never tell you...usually is ok for bikini... then maybe it isn't all of a sudden. funny thing is they can violate you for content from youtube as well ! .god dam the pusher man.Best thing is use someone else which is who? 90% of adult programs cheat you.just this week I got cheated out of a few 100$ by adult friend finder.The way they do it ;they have a per member program where you get 0 .5 cents per unique you get about 1 $ per "free signup" which is the one guy who didn't get the memo [which is right in the ads]that all the profiles are fake...lol..for adult that is actually real good money... but problem is you have to maintain a ratio of free signups to traffic..once you dont they "convert " the account ...which means they conviscate retroactivly:lol: all the prior earnings before the ratio decreased.So actually you could have 3999$ in you earnings but if you hit a bad period for conversions they could just steal your money.ask yourself this? would they ever have to pay ? hell no !even big sites would have period of bad conversion...Only people can make out with them is biggest companies they wont mess with .. besides your cut of black label ads will be about the same.unfortunatley there is a shortage of adult programs that are not cons

Updating this thread;
I put Birthday Stripper live today. I did not place any adult content - writing or pics - on there.
***note that some explicit ads DO come up on the site, as I have put BlackLabelAds on there, the 'adult' version of adsense-type ads, so if you are underage please act accordingly. Mods can delete or move this thread if they feel it crosses a line.This is my first experiment with BLA, we'll see how they perform and how reliable the company is. Some of the ads not showing yet, apparently it sometimes takes a few hours for BLA to index a site enough.

I kept this as a very simple minisite, rather than developing into a professional adult site. It's a minisite experiment. If anyone's interested, I'll update you on how BLA performs and treats me.

Bannen, thanks for your update. Even though the site is simple it still looks good. Good luck and yes I'm interested in your updates on how it's doing. Thanks
