c. Evidence of Registration or Use in Bad Faith. For the purposes of Paragraph 4(a)(ii), the following
circumstances, in particular but without limitation, if found by the Panel to be present, shall be evidence of
the registration and/or use of a domain name in bad faith:

primarily for the purpose of selling, renting, or otherwise transferring the domain name
registration to another person for valuable consideration in excess of your documented out-of-
pocket costs directly related to the domain name; or
(ii) you have registered the domain name in order to prevent the owner of a Relevant Identifier

They really should be glad people are registering the few that they did. There are an astronimcal amount that went unregistered. I would love to know the cost for relaunching the .ad tld, which I doubt this intial launch will cover for Andorra Telecom.

"The minimum length must be 3 characters."
Can't even have pb.ad for personal use, heh.
Where can I report the registry preventing me from using my Relevant Identifier?

Most sensible names taken years ago, while some domains seem to be reserved - showing as unavailable but no whois entry. Oh well, I wasted enough time, moving on.

Someone registered dickhe.ad today.

They may regret that decision. Domainers spend BIG money on new extensions. Be interesting to see how long it lasts.

I don't think Andorra is going away any time soon. ;)

That's actually not what I was emphasizing, but thanks! I meant how long the policies affecting domain investors will last.

I really lucked out in disguise - I registered 6.ad domains but only 1 succeeded 😂

So they put a serverHold on that one, too. Registered in 2020. I don't remember what other domains I checked and I don't really want to waste time checking again, but they are probably also suspended. Because .ad is only good for domain hacks, and domain hacks are meant to be collected and/or sold. Way to waste a perfectly good opportunity. As I (think I) wrote in another thread with the same news, I don't think they will even recoup the costs of relaunching the registry with that attitude.

No buy sell of these domains. What to do if registered them?

Looks like some are ignoring this policy and registering the domains. Their policy is still the same:

Hi, I’ve been following this thread from the outside and I’d like to share some information, as I live close to Andorra and I’m quite familiar with how this works there.

Regarding domain names in Andorra, it’s important to clarify that current regulations do not allow domains to be bought and sold as independent assets. In other words, they cannot be listed for sale or transferred as a standalone product.

However, there is an important detail that many people are not aware of.

When a domain is linked to a real business (a company, a commercial activity, a brand, etc.), it becomes part of that business as a whole. In that case, if the entire company is sold, the domain is transferred along with it.

That means:

The domain is not sold separately.
The whole business is sold.
The domain is included in that transfer.
This way, the regulations are not violated, because legally the domain is not being traded as an isolated asset, but as part of a complete business transaction.

In summary:

In Andorra, “standalone” domains cannot be bought or sold, but they can change ownership when they are part of the sale of a real company or project.

I hope this helps clarify the topic.
