That would be correct, as I own the TV.com :)

Yes, Zeilen means Sailing in Holland!
As Holland is basically surrounded with water, sailing is kind of popular with a lot of people.

By the way, yas.tv is mine, I forgot to let it drop and it automatically renewed, I got a $150 bid last night and decided to send it to auction instead of countering.

YAS.tv is such a good name with so many meanings and such a bIG footprint.

I'm assuming it was bought originally for the property development possibilities?

As Hooked .tv is mine I would love that figure to be improved upon - however - my favourite of the bunch (and not mine) is Crimson - and there's no Premium to make it even more attractive.

Yes, the reason I regged it is this: Yas Island, a $40 billion project near Abu Dhabi.

Good luck on Hooked.tv!

How do you get your names into auction at Sedo ? Every time I send them names for the special auction feature they just reject them - I don't think they even look at them properly

It's nice to see more foreign names selling!

In most cases you have to have someone make you an offer on one of your domains before you have the option of sending it to auction.
Under certain circumstances you can ask your rep if you can put a quality domain on a 10 day auction either with or without reserve. Alternatively you can submit your domain for consideration of being placed into a premium auction, this can be done through the management console using the drop down menu on the bottom left of the page.

Len - yes that's what I've been doing submitting names to the 'premium auction' - but they all get rejected supposedly because of 'quality' which seems a bit far-fetched to me when you see some of the names that get selected - I just wonder if all these big auctions sites aren't all an 'old boys' club where you have to be on eof the club to get selected

Advaita,

I doubt you are being picked on for the name, or for that matter, the extension. They are probably turning down your names because SEDO want MORE commission not LESS.

Its a fact that .com sells higher than .TV and their whole structure is built around the .com model. As .TV picks up (and it most certainly is doing) these criteria will change. Money talks bigger than most things.

Sadly, in the meantime, it is probably best to wait for an offer on a name to go to auction and todays market will sort how many more bidders there are likely to be. Many .Tv names are still going through the whole auction process on just one bid.

Good news is - that we are starting to see some VERY big deals through SEDO on .TV. I was happy to be a player last Sunday and was taken to almost $10,000 before we decided to bail out - someone else wanted that .TV (DIY.tv) even more than we did. Many on this forum also took part so we know there is lots of .TV money out there.

Also, other .TV names are going through SEDO without going through auction. I personally bought one a few days ago that was multi thousands, but never saw the auction space.

Our .TV day will come - but for now - we have to be content with believing that SEDO have BOTH our interests at heart when they ignore many of our requests for auction without any bidders.

It might feel unjust - but I doubt its anything personal.

As of right now there are 10 names listed for Auction at Sedo all with only one bid. Hate to sound a bit pessimistic, but it appears like names are taken to Auction (no doubt the seller expecting a higher bidded price) and there is no further interest.

The exception was last week with diy.tv but that started from a ridiculously low base rate and was bid to a fair value IMO.

On the other hand, at least there are more .tv names in Sedo for Auction compared to 6-12 months ago.

>:( how come I missed diy.tv sale ?

Ture, it's a great deal compared with $1000 renewal fee, if you still remember that diy.net sold for $200,000 at Nov 2007.
According to the owner of diy.net, it generats about $2000 just by parking.

DIY.tv will be even better after .tv been public recognized.

Heroes (Mark) you are right on and I think it shows that sending .tv to auction is in most cases a lose position for the seller unless he or she is going to put a great name there with below market starting price.

CurrencyTrading which you are now the owner of and I thank you for the sale. But I was so sure the domain would not get another bid I made a bet with another friend of mine that anything over $700 he could have.

I watch Sedo Auctions all the time and 90% are 1 bid and nothing else. .tv it is 99% 1 bid and nothing else.

LLL and cool LLLL.com get a lot of bids, nothing else really. I picked up a great LLTV.net on SEDO only took me being the second bid 90 euro for MRtv.net the domain is regged since 99 and since I am a big fan of LLtv.com/net/org since all are regged most regged for several years. I thought this was a great price, glad people did not bid it up.

The other thing I think screws things is that domainers are not the only bidders on the site bidding. Think about a business bidding for a domain, their bid is $300, instead of the seller countering they figure auction it. Now the business might be pissed their being used along with being used their bid is not going to be upped by them their the top bid. Now at 6:30 a.m. someone else comes in and makes a higher bid by $10 and get the domain.

SEDO 7 day auctions not needed. People wait until the last minute on the close of the auction beside the starting bid. Make auctions three days. Again IMO

Congrats mark in getting rays name.

I tried for it but glad to see you own it.

Nice name and best of all it has a nice revenue stream involved. Not sure if ray cares to share interest in that name in the marketplace but I am sensing there wasn't much interest based on monthly revenues and currency trading is a huge area. I am commenting on this because I am doing an experiment on Vegaschapel.tv. It dosent bring in 20 dollars a month but has the brand I feel and more views and clicks are occuring each month. But the market place is very weak it seems with revenue names and or even one word key words are not moving

No offense mark, I am thrilled you got name and its an under valued asset. I own a lot of forex names and was hopping currency trading would fly higher and help the forex names I own some down the road. But my forex names do not come to the revenue streams that ray was doing.

John, nice names! Good luck on auctions!

I threw a name into sedo and just one bid on it and what a flop it was. Was disappointed.

Few days back it was exciting see the players jumping in and bidding up keywords and high profile names.

The domain was never being sold based on the revenue, I decided to let it go to prove a point about SEDO along with getting a decent return on a $25 domain. I have forex domains in .com and Currency Trading was not needed anymore. Again if I did not know Heroes was the bidder I would not have pushed the domain to a SEDO auction.

I know it was not based on revenues. Its a powerful branding name.

However people that know the revenues and how it did that should have helped out a lot vs no revenues even with a great name.

It was a nice return and good roi.

I've never purchased or regged a .tv on assumed or anticipated parked revenue.

On a different note, I think MRtv.net is sensational.
