A good auction script?

:hi: The one that I'm actually using works with flatfiles and the layout is rather poor. Would like to have a better looking one using sql. I looked around at ebay. But the scripts there are mostly of the kind of my current script.

Have you tried a script called PHPAuction? It's not that bad, and chances are that if you have Cpanel w/Fantastico it's already there...

Yes, I have fantastico. Thank's for the hint. Looked at it, but I have the feeling that php auction isn't much better than my current script. I found PHPPROBID in web. But they want 179 $ for the script and 445 $ (!) for a custom skin.

You'll never know til you try And phpauction is a paid script as well. But comes free with most hosting packages.

"everyauction" is a sort of open source clone of the older ebay. I played with it a while once. Works farily nice, but seems a little dated now. Uses CGI instead of PHP which is generally a little more resource intensive on servers.

Well, I would pay 50 $ or so for a good script with a correct license.

Have you checked out http://www.auction-script.com? I came across their website awhile back when I was looking for scripts. I haven't used it and not affiliated with them in anyway, but from the demo it looks pretty nice for the price.

MyFreelanceAuction is a simple script developed entirely for freelance web designers. The script has simple features which allow a web designer to make his own auction and receive bids. With each bid a public running total will be updated for potential buyers to keep an eye on. The designer will also be presented with a private online page with the details of each bid, the bidders email address, bid amount and the option to delete that bid. Once a designer chooses to end an auction, he can simply send an email to the email address of the highest bidder to ask for payment.

I have found that all projects in the 95% or greater in activity are pretty high quality since they are the top projects out of the 100,000 projects hosted there.
