I seriously doubt they actually "dumped" their old TLDs, maybe redirect the old to the new or visa versa.

On a side note, I spent more time looking at the background pic than actually reading that blog, until the pop-up, then I closed it.

The one thing nearly all 50 have in common is their .com (or ccTLD) was lackluster or they didn't have the .com. I think this is where most of us expected the new gTLDs to find a market.

So pretty much they dumped a domain that sucked to begin with or they never even owned it because they sucked. lol

So this kinda people are so called dumping there crap dot com;s for there crap new tlds.

When it will be NORMAL to purchase new gTLD for $xxxxx then we would be able to talk about acceptance of new gTLDs.

Many people and companies regged or purchased for $xxxx .mobi, .pro etc. and we all know how "popular" these extensions are today. Many .mobi sold for high $xxxxx and some for even $xxxxxx but it is not popular extension today.

I think Sierra Finance won this "contest" with a longer domain name. They should probably buy the .com as well. Rostrum.Agency were runners up. Excluding the megalith Home.Barclays of course. Some others showed some merit, but most traded a crap domain for an almost crap new gTLD. They may see it differently, of course. But people with no imagination choosing the original domain name shouldn't be the ones to select their new gTLD name.
