The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Unfortunately they don't accept Paypal

Renewals are expensive. Is there autorenewal
1. by default
2. in any case (not possible to drop)
?

Maybe they restricted PayPal for some countries, will ask them regarding this.. Thanks @aelko

I received a response from them:

Hello,

Thank you so much for contacting DreamHost support. I will be happy to
assist. In this case to pay for an actual service you are unable to do it
via paypal. You can check more info out on how our payment methods work
here:

https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215202687-Payment-methods

However the workaround you can do is add a positive balance to your
account with paypal and then process the payment of what you want to pay
for. Keep in mind if you have any pending balance the amount you add to
the account will go towards the payment of the due balance.

The way to do this is by going here:
https://panel.dreamhost.com/?tree=billing.payment

click add money to your account.

and process the amount with paypal there.
If you need more info on this as well you can check this article out:
https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215202667-Making-a-payment

If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate in responding,
or opening a new case. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks again @aelko They answered my ticket with the same solution and it works.
However last year I bought a domain using PayPal without having to fill in the balance, not sure why but they don't specifically answer this.

4 USD cheaper than Epik and similar companies. Worth trying.
Also need cheap transfers.
What price can registrars give for , say, 1000 .com transfer?
Also are there bulk buyers who can pay 5 percent of Godaddy appraisal,
if so, maybe I can sell all and quit.
(sorry for hijacking the thread a little bit)

I'm showing 8.99 for .com now. Guess the 5.99 is over.

This morning I waited (my timezone) on answer about the url-forwarding and it was changed also. I was p**d off.
If they claimed somewhere that it would be the whole september, they have to endure this till end september (5.99); (in an email I got earlier it had to do with Labor Day vacation; something from the US I presume (?)).

Have anybody seen till when it was earlier on (till end september) ??

Of course asking to prolong the promotion still a little time stays free : submit a ticket or send an email.
Anybody ?

It's useful to note that DreamHost (being a hosting company) permits only one such discounted .com purchase, i.e. there's no option to add more than one domain to cart, according to my check now.
(presumably, users could technically create multiple accounts, if they're looking to save a few bucks)

Be careful while buying any domains with DreamHost, you never know when they will start billing you for unwanted and unopted hosting, kindly check attachment.

I have been registering domains with them for over a month now but today they have started charging for unwanted hosting.

I have asked for a refund, lets see how they respond.

Will keep the thread updated.

Also, in my DreamHost account it clearly shows "No active plans on this account".

So clearly no hosting was ever added and opted for.
