Given what I have seen from end users with regard to selling .TV domains for anything other than low $XXX, it takes a strong negotiator to manage a high $XXXX price. Personally I would have sold Mighty probably around $750 and been happy.

is there a list of names that recently failed to sell and what price they did reach? i see that rw.tv missed its reserve at namejet reaching a mere $3000. this contrasts the most recent ll sale of jz.tv at namejet for 6800.

jon, do you ever feel dumb for spending time speculating in .tv domains when you could have spent that time focusing on making more films? for a filmmaker of your caliber i cant imagine that 7k feel like very much money.

to be honest most days now i wish i'd never had my "big idea" about them.

I'm happy about my .tv investments. We've sold close to $100K in domains which cost us a little over 10. The renewals are expensive and we're being more selective about which domains we renew, but we get a lot of .tv inquiries and offers. You just have to be smart about which domains you buy and hold, how you respond to inquiries, and when to sell. That all depends on your cash-flow position, of course. We're all learning and I think it's a great business to be in if you're careful.
