30 days to get money from TDNAM sale?!

I knew TDNAM was slow, but why in the heck does it take ~30 days to get your money from a TDNAM sale? This is insane! Has anyone sold a domain at TDNAM and gotten their proceeds sooner than the 30 days?

No
They told me they hold it for 30 days for some stupid reason.
The last one I sold took about 45 days to get the money and I had to call and bug them about it to get it then.
This is definitely a problem they need to address

I'm calling my executive account rep (they've gotta be good for something). Many he can pull some strings.

No luck. They can't speed up the process at all. This certainly doesn't make me want to sell domains at TDNAM anymore. They sit on your capital for a month. I'm curious to know if this is just a way to make some interest on the money or if there is actually a good reason for it. There aren't any other services that I know of that take so long to disburse proceeds from a sale.

At least they're consistent. If you fail to renew they hold domains in pending-delete longer than anyone else (months) If you change the WHOIS rec they disallow transfers for months. If they paid quickly people might expect reasonable wait times for other things.

They don't make you wait for everything, when you win a TDNam bid you get to pay them within 3 days or it goes back up for auction. Of course, you still don't get the domain for 2 weeks ...:P

if purchases are made via credit card, they also honor refund for 30 days that's why it's on hold.

i agree

too many days to wait...
in other words you lend them the dollars for more than a month , as the buyer must pay right away?

or i got it wrong ?

The reasoning the reps gave me is that anything under $500 does not go to escrow.com (cost prohibitive since their min is $25+). Since they are not a licenced escrow company they have to hold funds for a set amount of time, instead of when the domain transfer is complete. so they chose 30 days as it gives enough time for buyers to get a transfer completed. the 30 days starts when the buyer pays, so if they don't pay until 10 days after they bid, then i have to wait 40 days from the bid date for my money. :td:

ive been on all sides of the fence on this one

have to wait 30 days to get your money from a sal

have to wait 2 weeks to get your name after an expired auction

have to wait 6 days to get a refund if your expired auction that you won gets renewed

someones getting rich on all the interest
