I have seen it written here befor but I must Repeat it.

1and 1 is the worst company I have dealt with in buying a domain.

I will never buy a name that is registered there again. I would strangly recomend that no one else does either.

I recently purchased a domain name from a fellow Np er and the name is at 1 and1 and called them twice to find out how to transfere ther name.

the first rep had no clue , the secound informed me that the origional owner would have to fill out a form then fax it to them. Then I would have to fill out a form and fax it to them. then I would have to open an account, but could not open an account with that name. I would have to buy another name to get a user name. I lost him after that......................................there were four or five more steps involved.

I reckon you send them a support email. I have never received any response for 2 domains listed on them.

Took me two weeks to get as domain transferred properly from 1and1 to godaddy after buying it off an np'r here. I had to make numerous phone calls to 1and1 and godaddy to get it right. Your title of the thread says it all.

Just horrible!! and never again will I buy a domain thats reg's there. I wont even take it for free thats how pissed I was :td:

Unfortunately, I have several hundred domains scattered through 12 packages. It's incredibly tedious and time-consuming to have to look through all the packages--screens of 10 domains at a time--to find an individual domain.

After discovering there's no way to print out or export a list of my domains for each "package" or as a whole, I wrote to their support and asked how to do this basic function, or if they would do it. They wrote back that there is no way for them to prepare a list of domains (even through billing records?).

Here is their first reply:

"Hi good day to you! im sorry to tell you but we can't create a list of
your domains for you!"

Here is their second reply:

"Hi we already requested that feature to our admins but we haven't
recieve any reply yet to our request. As of now we can't offer you that
feature."

It's incredibly hard for me to believe a domain service cannot produce a list of domains in an account...I mean, how do they bill or account for customer domains?

The 1+1 business model is right there on each individual package.
You think you are 1 person but 1+1 treats you as multiple entities.
Its all about the renewal dates.
To pull out you would need to eventually close down all 12 packages separately.
I am reminded of the Pod scene in Alien 1. Careful where you tread......
