It will be on Amazon and Barnes & Nobles in the coming days, and it'll be in stores shortly after. More book signings etc. are being set up. More news on that will follow.

I'm one of the oldest-standing members here at NP, but I've more or less retired from domaining to pursue a writing career. I’ve been hard at work this week, doing a lotta discussion and dotting those I’s, but now the news can be given. And thus, I’ll do that now: My 1st book, “When You Leave This Way,” will be released to the public soon! Yeah, took me awhile to do this, but I decided releasing this thing now--opposed to later--was for the best. This is the FINAL draft, polished to as fine sheen as I could get it to be. Cover art will, as before with the few test copies I’ve sent out, be performed by the master artist Jamie Knakmuhs. A FB page was set up for it ( http://www.facebook.com/whenyouleavethisway ) & I’ve been busting my ass on an official website for it. http://whenyouleavethisway.com It still needs work. Tentative release date: 1/6/14. Like the page and/or sign up for my mailing list for updates on the release. I'll also post updates in this thread. And of course, any ?’s can be sent to me via the form on the site and/or via PM. Or you can post below. I'm trying to drum up interest before the release date

I've been working heavily for awhile, trying to drum up as much interest as I can on this. I've had help with many parts of this endeavor. I've gotten some Likes and I had others get me some. I still have a lot more to do/get. As I want to do a final copyediting/polishing draft (and I'm working on finishing another book as I type), the official release date might be pushed up to around Feb. 1st.That'll give me time. In 2014, I'll wrote my memoir and redraft this other book, then I'll write the followup to "Leave." I'm excited about the follow-up. I've got a trove of things in store for it.

This is why I decided to leave domaining. My life is just too busy right now :p I'm trying to sell off about 80 domains really cheap... just need to find buyers.

Best of luck with the book release Randy. It'll be sad to see you drift further away from NamePros but if that does happen, it'll be because you're getting busier and busier with your writing career, and that can only be a good thing

As a mod, you likely know that I did inquire about becoming a mod again (Eric said he made a thread about it in the mod section). I wanted to come back for the same reason I became a mod, at all--to stay with the community. Eric declined my request, but I harbor him no ill will. I suppose I just don't wanna disappear completely from NP. My time is pretty limited these days, but who knows what'll happen down the road? Whatever happens, I'll try to stay here, in some capacity

The story has a few major arcs, not just 1 or 2. That excerpt come near the end of one of the most troubling arcs: Chapter 6 (the title of it, for speculation, is "Addition Through Subtraction"). I was told by a fan who had read the full book that it was too great a piece to give out in an excerpt. But it's not THE best ie the rest of the book doesn't suck. So I don't mind giving this piece out. The rest of the chapter is, er, shocking, to say the least. I'm actually surprised at how I wrote that one.

A little extra time is needed for the completion of a press kit, the new cover, and little edits required for formatting. Thankfully, only a few extra days are required. I've tried to not have to prolong anything, but it'll take a few days longer for everything to be ready in the publisher's eye. That said, THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE IS BEING PUSHED FORWARD A FEW DAYS TO FRIDAY, JANUARY 17TH. Yeah, waiting a few extra days will suck, but I want to give the public a quality product, and it'll take a tad longer for it to be of the quality expected of me.

A few photos were taken today as concept art for the cover. A few others will likely be taken tomorrow. Thanks to Adam Brown for your help! The cover will take just a bit longer to complete, as a few additional images were needed. I'm not going to rush things, so the release of this book will likely be this coming Monday, apx. 12pm ET. Jamie Knakmuhs and I will have something nice for you guys to see soon! In an unrelated note: the toenail on my left foot's big toe fell off again. And it looks very, very odd.

EDIT: A few errors hit along the way, thus the release was postponed. Now, there are no roadblocks and nothing preventing it. In TEN days, this book will be made open to the public! I'm counting down the days--ten to go!

Thanks, truly. Yeah, it's a good book considering it's my 1st published. My next book is WAY better IMO, bu it won't be ready for awhile. :p Of course, I'll discuss that one once it's ready. But it does excite me--took me about 8 years to finalize

I just read the first couple pages of the excerpt, and it drew me in. Funny yet ominous. Hard to guess where the plot is going. A great start.

There is a lot I could say. I think it's best to throw in that my mom was a gifted writer. She had 3 kids and a full-blown head-to-toe cancer. She died without doing much of anything writing-wise. I too have cancer but not of the type my mom had. Mine stems from a genetic disorder. There are so many things I wanna do yet surely, I won't live to do them all. I've given up a billion things to focus on writing (I'm retired, for the most part, from domaining. Longtime users here remember I was a Section Leader at a time until I decided to focus primarily on my career) and as long as ppl like what I do, I'm happy. It's all or my mom, the disabled community, and I try to enjoy it, too

I'm as ope as the books I write. You can always ask me things. I hear a lot pertaining to my life and health, and I hear questions about the book (plot etc). I'm more than welcome to all/any questions ppl have--just ask!
