strategy Does How A Domain Name Was Previously Listed Matter?

When you are considering a domain name acquisition, does it matter who owned the name previously, what price they asked, and the marketplaces they used to try to sell the domain name? We all know to check for possible developed use of a domain name, in case there was abuse that taints the name...

strategy Single Dictionary Word Domain Names

Single dictionary word domain names can be incredibly valuable, as the list of sales in the next section shows. That does not mean that any dictionary word has value, however. With the spread of online dictionaries, some of which allow user additions, one has to be careful about whether a name...

advice Price sensitivity = very different for diff. price ranges, + some recent trends. Keep this in mind.

I've been seeing this over and over and over again. Including lately with a lot of sales / testing including this sale from today. For some might be obvious, but if not, keep this in mind. The price sensitivity of buyers goes much higher when your domain has a lower retail price. This is also...

analysis Some VERY interesting changes in pricing (numbers and strategy) during 2021

2021 has been an wild ride for me. I started good, then slowed down (a lot). But after some recent changes described below, now my sales have taken off like a tsunami. There are reasons behind this latest stream of sales and it's not just random. For example I'm having a stream of 4-fig sales...

discuss Has anyone seen recent decline in low priced .COM sales at Afternic? (clearance, $xx - $xxx range)

During recent years, I used to clear a ton of .COMs for say $75 or $99 through Afternic before renewal time. Like one in 5 names used to go - and pretty fast. In the last 12 months though, through the same method, I've sold... none. And the names are far better than those I cleared before...
