This is not enough to spend a lot of money so they go and search why should we spend TONS of money on it and i gave some of the reasons up there.

if you are there at the beginning of a trend you obviously have to only go after the best of the best keywords,

But this late in the game if you set your standards too high then you end up with no domains while the last of the potentially good ones are all found and taken by others.

So you have to use different strategies depending on when in the life of a trend you are registering domains.

For someone who is registering domains in this trend right now the best strategy in my opinion is to register any half decent keyword(s) that one can think of and then there is a year to sort them all out.

If you register 100 domains and end up with 30 or 20 that are good enough to renew and keep on long term basis then I call that a win specially if you can sell one of those 30 or 20 domains for five figures or more.

Needless to say no one should go and register a 100 useless domains.
