The vessels we live in, ie carbon, bacteria, bone, blood, flesh, urine, excrement all returns to the Earth. Our D.N.A. remains on our bodies in case we fall into an Irish swamp and gets preserved. The really interesting part is our spirit, which leaves our bodily vessel and waits to find a new one. Ghosts are waiting to find a new vessel. When a baby is born in the future its bodily vessel will inherit its parents D.N.A. and the spirit of someone who has died. Dejavu is memories from your spirit in a past vessel. Your body will return to nature and your spirit will find another vessel. Everything continues. Do not be afraid. Pack toothbrush and toothpaste in case they dont have any. @Daniel Owens is extremely cool guy and grade A+++++ domain name trader.

Food for worms. Then we all become worm poop.

I respect your (and others) opinion, however deja vu is the result of the crossing of timelines of which there is an infinite number.

Each nano second a new time line begins...in one someone may choose to eat a sandwich while in another, skip eating altogether...in another the choice may be to take a nap. The options are endless. So when we experience what is called deja vu, two of those timelines are running together for a brief period of time.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Those people who experienced near death and “saw the other side” and the light at the end of a tunnel.

that’s just the brain winding down with a bit of hallucination.

also the whole “my whole life flash before me”
that’s like when a pc is shutdown as suggested and the pc is saving all the data before completely turning off. Saving it for what? I have no clue.

I think most people believe we are food for worms. Most take up religion “just in case” they are wrong.

All I know is this. I’ll make sure the worm that eats me dies alcoholism and diabetes lol

of course this could all just be some virtual simulation

Either case choke on it wormy!

A friend posted an article on facebook talking about how, through medicine, we may live to be 450-500 years of age, and that technology is only twenty or so years away. My response to him was, "You mean I have to WORK for 400 more years? No thanks."

Maybe not the most enlightened attitude. As for a soul, I have faith that I will end up elsewhere, not on a waitlist for a new body.

Once they have perfected organic 3d printing, it might be possible to upload your brain memories and download them into a new body type of your choice. Not immortality for the first body, but an interesting topic. IMO, a century from now that is how the human race will migrate to other star systems, terraforming planets to our needs, then printing out humans to start a colony. At that point, though, will there be a soul attached to the bodies? Will we simply be creating planets of soul-less beings?

Of course, the possibility that we will destroy ourselves via a nuclear war within the next 100 years is probably higher than we realize.

The decision is easier if you actually enjoy living. If you aren't enjoying "the deal" you've got in life, maybe its different. Some people think if they've got another 400 years, fantastic ...maybe I'll start a new career at 80, on the condition that I had the physical capability, mind and so on of a 40 year old

Burning your body or having it decompose in the ground to be eaten by small creatures is quite possibly one of the most reckless things you can do ...but that's my view. A sad reality (can almost be seen as slightly patronising) is that some people are forward thinking or have a futurist / optimistic / enthusiastic outlook of a new world, and a big portion don't (the old world, old thinking, traditional, not interested, can't be done, getting old and dying is a blessing in disguise, our body will feed the planet, its unethical, AI will kill us all attitude ...)

I do sympathise with people that aren't into this stuff. People may be left behind, due to certain beliefs, traditions, ideologies ...and I think that's just the way it is

We cam from the same material that created the big bang, the first stars and subsequent super nova's........we probably have very very small amounts from back then left inside us......

I like to think our atoms will connect with others as they float around and eventually create something as beautiful in space........

I'll connect with you. I don't mind sharing some of my atoms, if we can make something pretty

The old saying (which may be relevant, in this case): You make your own bed, so sleep it

I will be an elderly, elderly senior by the time technology extends lives by centuries, that was my thought. If you get to extend your life while you are vibrant, hey cool.

If you are under the age of 70, and in fair physical health ...I wouldn't necessarily rule it out you missing the boat. Maybe not extending life by centuries, but at least being one step ahead of the problem to be living for an extra 10 years on average, and then more. A gradual process of understanding aging, gathering time as one goes long (separating metabolism from pathology)

Just cryogenically freeze your thumb and hope future med tech can revive you, combine that with linking your brain to a computer or Ai network (elon Musk's Neuralink company looking into it) and it to a machine and voila.... with a lot of grey areas in between though.....

When you die, you decompose and return to the earth. no dreams, no ghost.

If you are a Christian and know Christ, you will be resurrected to life along with the innocent ( death before accountability ) and those who didn't know of Christ but lived in faith according to the knowledge they had.

Ah......but what we are made of will last longer than the universe has already been around for.....

What happens to animals after they die, will happen to mammals including humans. We will be food of carnivores, will help them surviving as the final job.
