He/she sure did. But keep in mind that some people also reg just in case domains without having much faith. This is a very wasteful way to invest but will pay off if you are holding on to the right keywords. Chain is one of those "if this crypto relate thing is successful someday, this will be one of the top selling domains" kind of keyword.

I think that NFTs were already a phenomenon in 2018. It just seems very early because of how things recently blew up after the Metakovan sale hit mainstream news. That's when the flood gates opened.
