The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
i think mine was photognize.com, before apps were able to recognize people in photos.
I still own it and trying to have it sold

ElbowCreek . Com, a western fiction site. My goal was to create a shared world, where multiple authors wrote stories that included the characters created by the other authors. Still might work that out, had a lot of fun building it back in the day.

My first domain was Afrimov.com. I still own it. I think I registered that in 2015 or 2016 for a site for African movies.

The experience of searching for an appropriate name back then and finding them all taken was what got me into domaining in the first place.

My first domain registered was gfxclass.com in 2006.
I wish I knew more about domaining then as lots of domains were available, but this is life :)

I registered this because it was similar to a domain i liked in an active graphics community, called gfxartist.com ... this does not exist now anymore.

The first domain I registered was in 1993. It occured to me then that domains might be valuable someday, but I was pre-occupied pushing the research envelope and didn't have time nor money to buy LLL's.

Now I haven't hand reg'd a domain for awhile, but today I did...and felt the rush :xf.wink:

My first domain was a country name in Africa but it no longer exists....
Bophuthatswana.com
I hand regged it at Network Solutions in late 90's when I was about 12 years old, I found it through viewing the dial code of all countries from an expired local yellow pages phone book, and I dropped it one year later when I realized that the country was gone forever.

I now own 4~5 country .com names and luckily they all still exists.

fleaking

My first domain was something like "freeispprovider.com" working for Going Platinum that didnt last long with some MLM business. Getting paid to buy click and such. Then I got hold of casinospill.com that I made into a small site of 3 pages , static, making me a $1000 per month residual income for a year til I promoted it too much putting posters on car windows and had to take the site down. How dumb I was that time, could easy buy some good domains and make more casino small pages and Id be rich.

HotWebSpot.com back in 2003 industry was my first hand reg. I was developing it to be a social networking site starting with pubs and bars... then I thought the whole "social networking thing" would never last and canceled project. I was a poor college student and tried to get my money back and stumbled on the domain industry. What a ride it's been!
