I Finally Acquired This Domain!

Domain investor @Keith has had his fair share of considerable domain deals including the $720,000 sale of NAS.com. This time, however, he has announced the purchase of a desirable three-letter .COM domain.

The name, revealed in this discussion, reportedly took ten months to acquire. According to WHOIS, this domain was registered in 1995. The discussion also notes that this is a single-word, first-name .COM.

Is There a Selective Parking Service?

Domain name parking used to be one of the most popular and reliable methods of producing revenue from a domain name. The money from advertising hosted on the domain would often make the owner a healthy income.

Parking has become less and less lucrative over the years, but there are still some investors that make money from domain parking. Here, a domainer wants to know whether there are any parking services that purely accept β€œgood” domain names. The attraction of this might be that it leads to higher quality ads being shown and a higher parking income.

Which Valuation Metrics Do You Consider?

Valuing a domain name has to be one of the best skills for any investor to master. Buying, selling, and portfolio management are all typically governed by individual perceptions and valuations of a domain name.

There are no strict and specific rules for how you arrive at a valuation for a domain, but what are the best valuation metrics to consider? As of writing, the poll in this discussion shows that past sales are the best metric. Would you agree?

What Was Your First Domain?

We all start somewhere. For every domain name investor, from Rick Schwartz through to someone that has just entered the industry, we all have a first domain name.

In many cases, that first domain name might not be the best quality, but for others, the first domain name may have been acquired for a project or venture. Most first domains, though, have a story to them. Here's the chance to share your own first domain story.
