NFT.com Sold for $2 Million

NFTs, also known as Non Fungible Tokens, have skyrocketed in popularity this year, making headlines in major news outlets around the world. Auction house Christie’s has even been auctioning off Bored Apes and Crypto Punks for millions of dollars.

As @DomainSherpa host, Jonathan Tenenbaum says, however, “all roads lead to domains.” This time, it leads to NFT.com, a domain sold earlier in the year by Media Options’ CEO, Andrew Rosener.

This week, George Kirikos discovered that NFT.com sold for $2 million in details revealed in a Canadian securities filing.

Showcase Your Most Popular Domain by Extensions

Domain investors are usually eager to share their prized domain names given the chance. Here though, you’re invited to showcase just one domain name that you own.

The domain that you showcase must be the name in your portfolio that is the most popular in terms of the number of extensions your domain is registered in. One example is Unicorn.tv, which is registered in 413 extensions, according to DotDB.

What’s Your Strategy - Passive or Active?

As a domain name investor, there are several potential strategies that involve different amounts of work. From sitting on your domains and waiting for a buyer to come to you through to actively seeking out potential purchasers.

Each strategy comes with both benefits and drawbacks, but which do you prefer? Are you an active seller that needs to churn names, do you wait for the right buyer to approach you, or do you adopt a hybrid style?

Canadian.com Sold for $269,000 - What Would You Do With It?

Another mammoth sale was announced this week as Canadian.com sold for $269,000 in a deal facilitated by Uniregistry. What, though, are the potentially profitable uses for a domain name like this?

Aside from tourism, what could Canadian.com be used for? Other domain investors have responded to this question with examples of other country identifier domains and how they’re used. English.com, for example, is a language platform, while Dutch.com is used by a pet company.
