Nothing like as much of a problem it used to be in the past. The abuse of the Add Grace Period by some registrars was effectively creating a shortage of "good" domain names by registering the bulk of each day's deleted domain names in some gTLDs. The number of retail registrars is smaller than the number of dropcatcher registrars. Most dropcatching these days tends to be targeted and many of the domain names either go to auction or to someone who has paid in advance for the domain name to be caught.Domain drop catching is till a problem this days
