The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Sorry but if you don't post the name, you really should not bother. It's not going to be welcome here.

That doesn’t matter. If you can’t share the name as per the thread requirements best not to post as it will get moved off this thread.

With all respect, this applies to the other thread here. This thread is called "Discuss and share ANY details of domain name sales" for a reason. You can't impose your rules on all threads. If you don't like what you see here, you can always head to the other thread.

Thank for letting me know as I wasn't aware of this. I only saw them here. Apologies if my words offended any fellow forum member.

This is a sales report thread so that forum members know what are selling on top of what's being reported at namebio. I leant a lot by studying sales report here, not by asking stupid questions or harassing people who reports here.

I was reporting my sales as a way of giving back, but I am sorry to say that i will no longer be reporting any sales. Peace.

Really what is wrong with this person...

Every time this happens...

Simply says whatever he thinks and adds something like I have to warn newbies and help them not to waste money...

It is long pass the valuable feedback and now it's like I have to say something here which is negative and opposite to the sellers views and start a debate with other members.

I sincerely think Alcy can give good points and share better...but it looks like his aim is to oppose and say something negative...every time.

This behaviour Was seen for @twiki @DNGear @blogspotter sales...
And mods here think everything is sale related!!
This is doing more harm than good... every comment with negative feedback is not worth to anyone.
I think it's not first time someone said they will not report because of this annoying behaviour!!

Not everyone is always correct... including the sellers but every time it's negative means you have to think about what you are saying and how you are saying!

Thanks,
Ravi.

Thanks. No, none at all.
Only negotiations within Dan. And both times I had a feeling of being taken advantage of...
How so?

Can someone help me out?

I see many sales reported in this site, via afternic and Dan, but I never see them (afternic or Dan) mentioned on namebio (latest sales).

At least afternic is listed as an option on namebio (venue in search), but Dan isn't there at all.

What am I missing?

To be honest the recent uptick in .xyz sales and their prices is nothing short of intriguing.
It's a bit hard to wrap my head around these .xyz sales and their prices, especially considering that the extension doesn't exactly exude credibility.

Personally the first things that occur to me w.r.t the.xyz extension is spam/phishing etc and i don't exactly see how a brand using .xyz for their site helps with their credibility.

Can't help but wonder if it's a last ditch effort by the .xyz registry on some level to kick start registrations and save the extension.

You're a bit off here. No worries, many actually wonder the same. I did too.

The registry doesn't need to kickstart registrations. In the last couple years, they were the highest growing gTLD lately in number of registration:

I think the above paints the picture clearly.

Now think about the customer. There is a new company that wants a short, memorable name. Also they won't pay 1M to get a .com. What are their options?

.net is not good for everything, and in fact it is in decline and dated. .ai and .io are very specific. .finance = long and so on.

.co has the email problem and many users will confuse it with the .com

They need a generic name that is not tied to something, short and recognizable. At this time, .xyz is the only contender for that.

Until, perhaps, .web gets launched.

really you have done extremely well with dot co sale with existing .com.
It might be for domain infringement fear of the business
Would you share your sell through rate of such sale of dot co with existing .com?

Most of them - Yes.
I'm sorry,
How were you able to convince them to buy the .co?
Tried, even when I have the shorter version of the name, but no one seems to be interested.

I would rather launch a venture on a domain in any of the other extensions with a meaningful prefix or suffix, than using a .xyz domain, even if it was a generic exact match domain.

It's hard to take something seriously when it ends in .xyz, which just feels like a pointless string of alphabets for the most part.
