legal Victoria Beckham wins WIPO

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice,) owner of VictoriaBeckham.com, has won a case at WIPO against Cynthia Panford, co-founder of USBeckham.com.

WIPO ruled that Pangford's website was confusingly similar to the Beckham trademark and ordered control to be handed to Victoria Beckham. The ruling also sated that Panford had "no rights or legitimate interests in the domain name" and went on to say that the domain was "registered in bad faith".

The USBeckham.com site sold clothing as did that of the VictoriaBeckham.com site.

Unfortunately Pangford is said to have accused the WIPO lawyers of harassment.

(As reported in 'The Sun' (UK) newspaper, 20/09/2021.)

@NickB - Neither do I, my wife who reads the comic pointed the story out to me and I thought it might just be of interest. :xf.smile:

I think it would have been a different result if the website hadn't been confusingly similar to Beckham's trademark. IMHO. So I think Pangford is clearly at fault here. She deserve what she got. WIPO at work correctly. IMHO.

Would prefer DailyMail, its counter-part? Lol. Or US TMZ? just sold to… theSun’s owner

He owns respectable Barron WSJ NYPost etc

Stop picking on theSun! Just kidding,
not my market, but prefer DailyMail! Honestly!
