I'll; finish the new stuff off with a little synthwave. Bottom one takes me back to Cali in the 80's.

Rolling Stone magazine crowns Aretha Franklin's Respect the 'greatest song of all time'

Not sure I agree with '...of all time', but it is a very very good song.

@lock - I knew you love soul mate...

Anyone remember the full page ad that said “The flute is a heavy, metal instrument!”?

No, but I do remember that they beat Metallica for the first ever 'Heavy Metal' award that year.

Many of us were left scratching our head - Ian included - but it certainly reinforced the fact that JT are one of the most influential bands ever.

Great article in Rolling Stone mag by Ian Anderson celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2018.

Jethro Tull: Thick as a Brick (07/31/1976)

Jethro Tull played live at Tampa Stadium, it 's for baseball, on 31th July 1976 in Tampa, Florida/USA.

“Really don't mind if you sit this one out.
My words but a whisper your deafness a SHOUT.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think.
Your sperm's in the gutter your love's in the sink.
So you ride yourselves over the fields and
You make all your animal deals and
Your wise men don't know how it feels
To be thick as a brick

And the sand-castle virtues are all swept away in
The tidal destruction
The moral melee.
The elastic retreat rings the close of play
As the last wave uncovers
The newfangled way.
But your new shoes are worn at the heels and
Your suntan does rapidly peel and
Your wise men don't know how it feels
To be thick as a brick... "

LOL, thanks, and that would have to be the ugliest guitar I have ever seen!

Here's a great article with links to Prince's guitars.
Dave Rusan's Cloud Guitar was the one Prince used on Purple Rain.

Someone once said that they would go down like a lead balloon, but 52 years later it looks like the gods of rock n roll have a long overdue official documentary coming out ;)

BECOMING LED ZEPPELIN: Official Venice Teaser Clip

Jimmy Page 'Overwhelmed' By Reaction To Led Zeppelin Doco At Premiere

The premiere of Becoming Led Zeppelin last week couldn’t have gone any better, according to Jimmy Page.

Page was at the Venice Film Festival last weekend, where the first-ever official Led Zeppelin documentary was shown at two different screenings. The rock icon attended both events and says he was utterly humbled by how audiences reacted to the film and to his presence there.

“The audience bestowed such affection before the viewing it was quite overwhelming,” he Instagrammed.

“As the film progressed the enthusiasm intensified and certain sequences were followed by applause. The audience were really connected and it was interesting to witness the communication and enthusiasm the event and the film were generating. After the closing credits, the audience rose to their feet and gave us another standing ovation, a thank you that I can’t convey in words, but boy did I feel it.”
