I received Fast Transfer requests for two of my domains (one on SAV and one on NameCheap). I don't have these listed on afternic. It appears to be a scammer.

How can this be prevented from happening in the future?

How are scammers able to list my domain on afternic?

Thanks in advance!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Most likely your domains were listed on Afternic by the previous owner and it's still there, because no one cared to remove them. Then a buyer comes to you. Check if it's the case (if names are on Afternic) and then talk to Afternic if you can approach this potential client.

I kinda think that if you transfered the domain when they order you to ,somehow the other guy may get paid

Most likely it's the previous owner's listing. Send an email to Afternic support mentioning the names, they'll remove them.

Nowadays, scammers are increasing day by day.

first of all, activate 2FA on your registered email id for your domains.

then

activate 2FA of your domain registrar account

&

activate domain LOCK for all your domains.

If any bad happens, complain where your domain appears by scammers.

Thank you for the ideas! It probably was in someone's old list that they forgot about when they are submitting files - but who knows. But the 2FA and Lock suggestions are good ones. Thanks again.

Don't forget to attach screenshot of the domain to your e-mail.

I'm not sure what you mean by screen shot of the domain? The webpage that is live now at that domain?

Open your names on on its registrar and take a screenshot. It should disply your name, the domain and other info.
