I have found a great 2 word phrase that is short and memorable, and much used in spoken language.

But the first word ends with ss, and the next word starts with s, so in a domain name, it would mean there is "sss" in the domain name.

It's not this phrase, but here is an example:
"Buss Spot"

Does this kill the value? What do you do?
Register "Bussspot.com", "Buss-Spot".com", or not register it at all?

Sorry for the newbie question :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Some people dislike domain names with consecutive identical letters. On the other hand, some people hate hyphenated domain names.

In your case, I think the hyphenated domain name is better than the domain name with 3 consecutive identical letters because it is easier to be read. If you think the word combo is really great, you can register both domain names and sell them as a package. Personally I avoid investing in these kinds of domain names.

This question is cool actually, but the ''bus'' is with one ''s'' only. So, you have BusSpot.com in this case.
Generally, it is a disadvantage to have double (and triple!) lettering, but very much depends on a case, on the actual words. Still could be a perfectly fine line.
You can PM me with a triple letter sample, if you don't want to post it here, and I will tell you what I think.

Many stay away from them, is the combo a popular one?

Good evening.

I have copied and pasted your query for ease of typing only. The thing to remember is that the only thing that matter is what the internet shows your name as and what end users actually see. For example:

Buss Spot will actually be seen in lower case as... buss spot or bussspot and the hyphenated version of Buss-Spot will read as... buss-spot.

Bussspot.com wil be seen as... bussspot.com

As Domainers we like to use Capital or upper case letters when we can although the real world example will never be the same.

I hope that this clarifies my take on this but if you need to think twice about a domain name just move on and buy or register one that doesn't need to be explained. Lol

Regards,
