Hi,

I recently acquired slowed.com in a park.io auction for $2K+

I bought it because I loved the domain and I can think of a few uses for it but not much.

In your opinion, how much do you think it's worth if I were to not use it and try to sell it instead?

Lower thousands

(In my opinion)

Slowly: 5 figure territory
Slower: 5 figure territory

I think that what you paid is about what it's worth. By this I mean that it will be tough to sell as a quick flip.
I'd go for a long run with this name, and be ready to hold it for 5 to 10 years, then you probably will have a higher chance to sell it at high xxxx, but unlikely earlier.

Looks like it sold twice so far. I'm guessing you are the $1,413 buyer. After such a recent purchase at that price point, it may need to sit a bit, but it seems to be worth close to double what you paid for now. It may go up in value later.

slowed.com 1,413 USD 2021-08-31 Park.io
slowed.com 644 USD 2005-02-23 Afternic

I'm the second buyer, yes and the price was $2025

Interesting, the amount changes when you copy-paste the text from that site.

Indeed, it happens all the time. Lots of confusion and @Michael won't fix, unfortunately.

Nice name. Look into Slow Loot. It's a NFT token or something based on Loot. They use slow.com. They might be interested in yours. I wouldn't sell it for less than $xx,xxx.

Could be interesting for anti-aging products.

I think it's intentional. Protecting against data theft via bots.

Intentions may be good, but the result is that a lot of users are pasting incorrect data to forums like these. There's no warning on the site that the data will be changed when copy-pasting.

It has been discussed by me and others, but no changes or warnings are made.

That's why I think it's intentional. But whoever does copy paste, better verifies. I'd see what I copy pasted.

I agree, but it's very tricky when pasting the whole sentence from Namebio.

You simply don't expect only the amount to be different after copy-pasting.

A simple warning would be perfect.

The -ed kills a lot of the value. Unfortunately.

Radio test fail. (might be heard as "slow")

It's a 4-fig domain, not 5-fig. I think you overpaid. As a domainer you need more room for margin.

But with a bit of luck you can sell it for a profit.

Edit: The value is still in the eye of the beholder

Slowing would have been much better. (radio test check)

Thanks for the great ideas @Silentptnr and @Amit V. I didn't think this domain can be used this way.

@twiki I do agree that I might have overpaid for this. In the end, it turned into an auction war between another bidder and I and the price went from $1200 to $2000 within an hour or two.

Estibot says it's valued at $22K so I think I could expect 8-10K out of it in the long run. But then again if we consider inflation, 8-10K might not be worth it 5-10 years down the road

I'd try to sell it sooner than that.

Good luck anyway!
