Domain Marketing Courses - Scammy Biz

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I guess I just wanted to let off some steam on how I feel about these get rich quick domain marketing courses that are forced onto so many new domainers. I have viewed these types of courses countless times throughout my journey in the domain world. They are all literally junk be it outdated, useless, or pure outright lies.

I find it really upsetting each time a new person to the business gets burned on the hopes of richness beyond belief within days of purchasing a domain name. I have had countless members ask me questions and I have helped out countless people who have been burned through these courses. I don't know of any logical solution other than directing people to this forum. You can literally find any answer you are after and quite a bit more in one central place.

I don't know what I'm trying to say other than it's a shame people are scammed all the time and it really shines a bad light on the domain community.

If this make no sense at all my apologies...been a long day :)

Seems anyone can scam now with any claim eg promote a crrypto because nobody is doing anything about shilling. KK biggest profiles can do it no complications. The top of social media is in on it.

Social media does need some accountability for a lot of things that go on

One that you see a lot of also - Forex trading. I've mentioned previously: Why would a highly profitable trader waste his precious time sharing his precious knowledge? Allowing more winners in the market, to take money from you, considering good traders make money off the bad ones. Do they just have a good heart? If that's the case, they won't charge for it (but they do)

Same applies to those selling domain marketing courses with big promises, or those with "insider tips" to give you a competitive edge. Ugh ...please

I agree. Anyone wanting to get into the game should spend DAYS reading and learning here before spending a dime. The clowns on social media are simply the modern version of the 'flim flam man' (a great movie starring George C Scott btw)

I bought a get-rich-quick e-book in 2007 I think it was $50, the sales page was great and I think the name of the author had some type of made up name with the word “mafia” in it to really give it some “cred. I bought the book because this particular get-rich-quick concept was new and different, Domain flipping was described by the author as a new sort of “real estate “ business, were the 10 letter domains were all getting bought up quick supposedly, but if you get in the business and learn from the “course” you could get some of these rare names while they are still cheap!!
when I actually forked over the $50 and bought the book the “course” was just very vague and general suggestions about expired auctions, basic explanations about “traffic” and how it affects prices of domains. Etc

I ended up buying like 15 domains right after reading the “get rich quick “ book, some from auctions, and 3 of them I still have and renew every year and I did not get rich quick.

In fact every year I get scammed more by having to pay renewal fees on these domains that even though they sounded cool, I haven’t had any offers on them except a fake offer from an email scam pretending to be interested in my domain name so I have to pay even more now to hide the email on the domain site so I dont have to deal with the email spammers.

There were courses before Michael. He has spent the most time and kept the course updated better than anyone else.
