Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

u dont think casino has more value than bet?

Bet's value increases coz the reverse is taken by an enduser. Casino's reverse is still owned by a domainer.

I'm not looking for a big money anymore, if someone wants to take casinovr for £20000, at this stage, they're more than welcome to it.

You don’t think £20,000 (around $28,000) is big money? I would still say that’s inflated for that particular domain, doubling the price of the ‘Bet+VR’ domain is also the wrong move on the back of your other sale, having those as a pair was your strongest VR domains in my opinion, now you’ve sold the stronger variant, but upping the price of the weaker, it’s going to be a hard sell!

What I would do if I was you is get in touch with the buyer of VR+Bet and say you can have the other variant too for $10k (maybe even $5k) to stop competition and completely tie down the ‘bet’ keyword in VR. They need a bit of incentive to go for it, so you have to dangle the carrot and lower the price, but they are your buyers for it and do it while the VR+Bet domain is still hot and fresh.

I see vrbet already working as casino

call me stupid and not that vrbet is bad name..but for a casino project..i would take casino vr over vrbet... which would have saved buyer around 10k too.. but hey..maybe he didnt think of it.. or thinks the only valid vr names need vr in front...

I think casino vr at 20k is under priced.. too bad i cant buy it..cause it will be worth way more later...imo

never mind 7 fig..or even 6... but great vr names like casino... there is nothing unrealistic about mid to high 5fig expectations on those.

But it may also be a valid strategy to wait a year or 2 before selling that other domain.. after Apple has released their headset and the hype is through the roof.. especially after this sale, the seller can easily wait that much for that high-probability event

Everyone went on about strategy for years, how it’s all a waiting game etc. But there comes a time where you say ‘how long do I wait?’ – Do you wait and wait in hope but your domains outlive you and they keep getting renewed via your account when you’re gone or do you take a good ROI now? Truth is VR domains haven’t took off how we all hoped, I’m not saying they won’t but they haven’t yet.

If you are talking strategy, the target would be the company who bought the other but they need incentive (so you have to go lower), if you think they may come back in 1 or 2 years, most companies who have bought VR domains have gone redundant or rebranded, so there is more chance of that happening than them actually coming back for the weaker variant, especially for $40k (double what they paid for the stronger), I’d go as for to say that is not going to happen.

last I heard vr was not an dead abandoned project with no future at all. neither is at xr etc.. until that is true.. the need and potential for those names remains.. unfortunately no one knows when it will be realized.

There are some new technologies over the horizon and VR headsets are slowly going to look more like VR glasses, as they shrink in size. This leaves the question if VR will merge with AR given that there will also be AR glassses. I don't know if that will happen, but if it does, VR may be under threat as a branding term someday, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

XR has a more certain looking future though, despite sales not being that as impressive as VR currently...

I have 2 disagrees on this post, that is fine, I have no problem with that.

But i am interested to hear why Boston and NameFu don't agree with this post, for 1 NameFu was saying the same thing as i have above several times in other threads in the past 2 days, to an even greater extent in him basically saying reverse VR domains are worthless. I don't think weaker variant domains are worthless (espcially keywords like Video/Casino/P*rn), but they aren't life changing.

So is the 'disgree' part me saying the company who bought VR+Bet is a good candidate for Bet+VR domain, but need incentive?

I have some free time today, so am open to discussion.

I think that if he held on to it longer he could have sold it for mid to high 5 figures...4 - 5 years ago he was talking about holding it for as long as he needed to get at least 6 figures, but he caved in to whatever circumstance he's going through, no judgment as I don't know his story but VR bet is worth more than 20k...it's even worth more than Casino VR in my opinion. I believe that because VRCasino dot com is the exact match that people will search for. "VR Bet" is what users will be looking for. Yes BetVR is still a good domain that could fetch a decent price too...

I also disagreed about your suggestion of caving in and selling BetVR for 5k or 10k. That name could be worth mid 5 figures sone day. Why not suggest he hodl?

I would wait until Apple drops their AR and VR headsets before lowering your price expectations. They are schedules to release soon. If you have 5 good or premium VR domains that's not a lot to renew for 2 - 3 years. Unless you are homeless living on the streets eating out of trashcans I don't understand why you would settle for lower prices before Apple jumps into the game.

There was a tablet and smart phone industry long before the iPad and iPhone, but those industries. Think about it.

I agree with that, VR+Bet is a great domain but again it goes back to the whole 'someday' thing, I've been posting in this thread since 2015 and 6 years later, I'm still seeing "someday" in that VR domains are going to be worth 6/7 figures 'someday'.

The truth is $28k is a great deal, $28k is a shit load of money for any domain (excluding ultra-premiums) and for most things in life. Could it be worth more someday, sure! But it could also be worth less.

As for Bet+VR being worth mid-5 figures, your views seemed to have changed in the last 2 days, why is that? But ok, what is the justifcation of this domain being worth mid-5 figures? What is the buyer going to get paying this amount for the domain? Why do they need to own Bet+VR and what does this domain offer a company other similar domains can't and how are they going to see a ROI paying mid-5 figures for this domain name?

Truth is, not many people search for the term, it's registered in few extentions, little to no companies are called this (ie no competition) and for it's new price-tag, so i can't see the justifcation in it being valued that amount.

Don't me wrong, i love to see people make money so fair play if it does sell for mid 5 figures, but I think sometimes you need to be realistic and i think my suggestion to make a good ROI right now is something most domain investors would try to do, ie:- offering a company you've recently done with with another variant of the one sold (and the weaker) for less, i think few would put the price up on the other and truly expect it to sell anytime soon.

These are gambling domains and I own a few more like casino//vr, bet//vr, vegas//vr they can all go for around $30k easy. Yes it's just a matter of time and we have just seen it happen. It's not big money, it's a fair price. Big money is like $60k if I want to be a real bastard and wait 5-7 years for VR to really blow up.

There is no "inflated for the particular domain". I have learnt that in domaining. It's what you can get maximum for the domain, that's what it means to be a domain seller, to me anyway, especially when dealing with premium domains.

Personally I think domains ending with VR are the stronger variant, but that's just my opinion.

Just to add this domain didnt go to a VR company. It went to a regular casino company who snapped it up. Some of these smaller casino companies (and affiliates too) make hundreds of thousand even millions each year.

You speak like you think I'm desperate for sales. I'm not mate. I can go another 10 years for bet//vr no problem. Money isn't an issue with that variant.

Extremely mediocre betting domains sell like crazy.. betVR for sure is a gem!
This fact that the end user isn't even a vr company says it all!
