The Metaverse is the next big thing with many of the Big Tech players already involved so thought it deserved a dedicated ‘MV’ thread.

Lots of keywords like Glasses, NFT’s etc are already taken but there are lots still available.

Just picked up ‘MVTokens’ in king

Happy hunting!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
that was a reseller offer. one of top ones around. I know what u mean but I have to conclude he knew what he was doing. I doubt defi is not going to good places in future.

we will see...

I was mainly talking about keywords and domains...not the industry. Look at crypto. It's still a profitable industry but crypto as a keyword is slowing down because of the popularity of DeFi to represent the industry. More terms on the way!

metaverse alone is great,

meta+keyword , again great
keyword+verse , again great

metaverse+keyword, too long i feel, just like
decentralised finanace+ keyword, instead, people use defi

defi + keyword , great again
nft / nifty + keyword great again,

but everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, if you see value in your choice, sure why not, everything is great when it sells well.

I honestly think ‘Meta Verse + Keyword’ domains are way too long and not great names.

Meta and Verse + keyword works but still very limited and companies will probably use only a few relevant names.

Both you do realize, blockchain is 1 character longer right?

and has performed just fine. As has block & chain

bc+ or +bc least performed

I think there all good prospects.

Personally I do not llke "mv" the I like xr,ar,vr

not same feel.

To each his own

Anyway the BUZZ word for now is Metaverse

If it changes to MV , Virtual Reality did to VR

Then you all will be sitting pretty :)

For now, mv just comes off as bland and need defined. imo

@Levi_charlz your fav name "global sta/b//l/e/c/o/i/n/s/" is 17 characters long....I just can see you angle here

I thought the big companies use block+keyword or keyword+chain ?

I know the sales of blockchain+keyword and to be fair they are good!

Just still to long for me Metaverse+keyword......personal choice that's all.

The bit I don't understand and I'm happy for someone to explain, they say the metaverse is the new internet, but I can't remember people registering Internet+keyword?

They shortened it to web+keyword, Net+keyword and Online+keyword and made it more streamline

I just can’t see ‘Meta Verse + Keyword’ taking off. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

Domain length doesn’t really apply to exact match domains but that’s another discussion.

Metaverse + Keyword + extension doesn't pass or just BARELY passes the radio test - depending on if the second word has more than one syllable.

Blockchain has an edge over Metaverse because it's 2 syllables. Metaverse has 3.

99.99% Metaverse + Keyword is going to be a hard sell, and startups will think twice before branding with it.

All of this is why I conceived of the idea of companies resulting to MV. I think MV is going to be a hard sell also... That is until it isn't lol...let's see...

euh what are u talking about dude..radio test is for pronouncable names.
it has nothing to do with what u said..

u must be thinking radio test can or should be applied to every domain on the planet..

come on man..

mark my words... mv will fail

u want to want metaversegames over mvgames all day long..no question asked..247...til we die

This convo wasn't about putting MV up against Metaverse. You're to caught up in that. I think everyone can agree that Metaverse is the surer bet while there is no reason to reg MV other than for gambling with your money, with severely poor odds 😆

The convo was just on the subject of how Metaverse is longer than most keywords that succeed. It's not just about pronouncability, it's about memorability. Beyond the radio test it's also how easy it is to spell and type. A big player like Facebook would likely brand with MVGames before MetaverseGames. But that's not to say that a large player wouldn't want to buy MetaverseGames for the sake of capitalizing that sub-sector and redirecting it to their brand. And what about the domain's with a second word with 2 or 3 syllables? That's trash.

There will be a few 2 word Metaverse sales in the 4 figures. Big players very very rarely buy long domains. That's a fact.

I will add that blockchain is a technology, Metaverse is a virtual world .......aka the new internet.........like comparing peas and shoes

Not that it matters... But Web3 is all about the chain... And so is Metaverse...all tied together. But again, I don't see how this matters.

@alcy, sorry I need to make a correction here because I *misspoke* while writing too fast in the post above 😅.

Of course a large Corp like FB would *brand* with "Metaverse Games" before "MV Games" (that's a given) but using the long tail as the primary marketing domain or product page domain seems very unlikely to me personally. That's more of the kind of domain a smaller, less established company would use. But I can see a large corp using a domain like MVGames instead as a primary marketing domain while possibly also using the long tail as a redirect. So a large Corp purchasing the long tail for brand security is a high possibility. I just think it's too long for million dollar marketing campaigns.

What I was *not* trying to say is that MV is a stronger brand term. It's not a popular brand term at all... That is until a larger player decides to make it one, which may or may not happen.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, I think it would be wise to go for meta + world, cloud, block, zone and bla bla. When metaverse term is a new arrival in itself, i’d not bet on MV yet.

As for AR,VR , they were there since long time and people were already aware of it.

Thanks Samer. Why not just say .com?

They dont want it linked.

Better safe than sorry, Some go beyond period inside parentheses (.) before the “dot com”

They dont want the name linked back, if sold.

Is it always King? Even for tech related domains where .io may make more sense?

I agree in Meta names bought a lot of names with .com and .io . I believe .io would make better sense in meta names.

Wow,

Can’t believe how quickly MV names are getting snapped up.
Just trying to follow this guy's domains

www.Metaverse.mv

Redirects to

www.the.mv

Internet was .com
Metaverse is .mv

Just a matter of time before MV gets adopted as the industry norm. Imo

People wasting time and money on multiple word (MetaVerse + Keyword) 13+ character Dn’s are showing their lack of Domaining acumen.
