sold nftstips. com for $500
on Afternic

Hand-registered 5 months ago after seeing clubhouse room named nfts.tips getting over 200+ people in the room daily
Tried to give them the domain free but they never replied back.
Domain was getting type-in traffic making $5/month from bodis
Average joes don’t know about these new gtlds like .tips so they just type in the whole domain with dot com

Third sale ever probably a bit of luck.

Domain: Getespn.com
Buyer : brand management company for ESPN.
Hand registered at namecheap.com for 10 dollars
Briefly used as affiliate site.
Sales price 1000 dollars.

Not sure about luck. Wouldn't be the first time a domain was purchased to bolster a Lanham Act proceeding.

Be careful with those.

Ah interesting. I briefly used it as an affiliate site but yeah not planning on taking any future trademark risks. I had a disclosure on site but obviously slippery slope with having a established brand in domain name.

Totally unacceptable, sorry to call you out on this but you're new enough to learn before you register any more trademarked names. MANY domainers think it's okay to do this if the price is below what a UDRP costs, but you are costing the industry more than what you personally made on this sale by risking more rules and regulations on domain names. You should not, ever, register another person's trademark. Not that I personally agree with trademarks, which I don't, but this bolsters their argument to have TM protections that remove domains with "Rapid UDRP" proceedings. Stop it.

Your not sorry, you just wanted a chance to posture from your high horse. The specific phrase get Espn is not trademarked. I bought to use for affiliate site with no intention of cybersquattng. I was going to just let it expire before the offer came and I wish I had the luxury of saying no to extra money but my life has been complete hell and mostly extreme poverty. 50,000 In business capital would be life changing to me but that's ass wipe money to the affluent . So I keep grinding because after a decade with only brief tastes of success what other choice do I have?

I'm sorry but this is completely irrelevant in this scope.

Completely irrelevant. You should have not registered it in the first place. And if you did by mistake (we all make mistakes) then you should delist it and delete if registrar offers the option, or let it expire without selling.

This all shows intent into selling a TM-related name.

Why do you think you have only brief taste of success?

Because you haven't learned yet.

And your answers here show that you are keen in your intent of not learning further.

Everything you say and do here is wrong with this domain. For you, and for everyone else. Say you don't care about anyone else, which is bad but it is what it is. What about yourself?

By "hustling" like this (or whatever the term is) you'll never get the full taste of success.

Start over. Think differently. NP is full of information for everyone and there's 1000 ways to success.

I'm posting this here not to fingerpoint at you, but to shake you a bit in your senses if I may. For your best interest. And for ever getting those real chances at the full taste of success.

Grow up and do what you should do, not what you see as the quickest (and wrong) path.

Lol y'all chill & let the man eat..

Most of these large corporations are also heavily involved in way more unethical stuff that scam us smaller guys everyday. Just read the news..

I don't have any TM names by the way lol..

Good. Neither you should. And if it happens by mistake, you know what to do.

Nobody has anything with the man. On the contrary. Nobody is here to blame anyone, but we can point him in the right direction, which I'd say is the right thing to do. For him and everyone else.

The TM thing doesn't happen with crooked companies. But with entirely legit ones too. It's not really you or me to decide which is crooked or not. And if you want to go against the system, that's entirely up to you but this way ain't the way.

I own an internationally-registered TM as well. And it's not a crooked company. And we respect the laws and until the laws are changed everyone should. Your answer makes me feel like anyone should infringe on my TM because as a corporation we're crooked anyway. This is not a sensible response from you.

Sure this sale can be put behind, nobody has anything against it personally, but it must remain entirely in the past. This just ain't the right path.

Edit: To the NP team, apologies for getting along with this, these comments actually need removal from the thread. I only answered cause it felt quite important.

Thank you, my eyes are opened now. I will never do anything else again unless you approve of it. I appreciate the insight ethics police.

Which nameservers do you use?
I'm so confused by this question.

Can someone please explain what this means and why it matters?

When registering a domain do you have a choice of nameservers?

You do have a choice when you register a domain. The nameservers will point where you want the domains and potential clients to land. If you use Dan, it will be their nameservers. Afternic, Epik, Sedo all have different nameservers.

Thanks @sircc

If you're just buying domains to sell but not to set up a temporary website, do nameservers matter?

Can nameservers be changed later?

Got my first SH sale last month:

Domain: E/v/s/i/e in king
Sale price: $2899
Sale Venue: SquadHelp
Hold time: 10-11 months

Got net proceeds of only about $650 as it was a SH-owned name. Need to sell one of my own owned names next.

I dont do those brandable things..but I'm curious..how is it one can be selling sh owned names? cant they just sell it and keep all money... or it's about u finding lead and buyer somehow.. if so..how.did u? ty

Its like you submit a name (non registered), if they like it they register it and pass on the commission to you when it gets sold.

the listing price was $1899 and the buyer was offering $1000 first and I was asking SH team to handle the counter offer and they did it.
Seems like a massive commission. Is there a reason why you went through them?
