Hey veterans! Just a question on time management in relation this profession...

What would be the best way to spend the 1 hour each day?

I'm open to light development like custom landing pages or a hub to contain all listing.

I'm trying to manage my time, and I have 100+ domains. They're logged in an excel sheet with BIN, min offers and general stats (aggregated from Sedo/Dan.com exports) - That took a while, but the work was worth it. I would like general ideas on the most valuable way to spend my time.

Respond to interested parties of your domain names, including:
  1. Research the interested buyer
  2. Research all potential buyers of your domain name who may be interested in it if they knew about it
  3. Research the value of your domain name
  4. Reply to the interested buyer quickly with an asking price
#2 and #3 can be done even if no one has expressed interested in your domains yet, and they'll help you grow as an investor. :)

We hope that helps.

Research your interests and niche.

Make sure it’s profitable.

i look at it as you can slowly, but surely accumulate wealth in the domain game, just stay humble, and .com, especially beginner. In this instant gratification age, i recommend LLLL.com which hold their value 456,976 all registered, (no #’s, special symbols)

Building up Mod team Bravo said;
Research acronyms Namepros has strict rules about external site aggregate included so i will say name of the site, without “com”

try read ShortNames love how contextualize

This does help, thanks. I suppose I'll just make a checklist of things to research and work through it. I tend to get lost going through domains and organizing, categorizing, double checking the parking... I do have OCD, so it has the whole Blessing/Curse effect here. :woot:

@Samer Interesting, ok - I'll read up on that. Thanks for this! It sounds very mysterious, so you have my attention. I'm still learning the rules across the board. Curious about the 'Be Humble' part. I tend to always be humble as it's not in my nature to draw attention to myself (introvert). Are there any specific examples you can share?

Anyways, Patience is a big part of this, and I'm coming to grips with a pretty massive renewal payment next summer. I'm guilty of getting attached to these names. Letting go of a domain, regarding a niche I love, is tough but necessary. Tough love. Like that scene at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade:

"Indiana... Let it go."

Researching and getting a list of potential end-users.

Read, read and read some more, learn as much as you can.

Go to expired domains.
1) Analyse all the domains that are in auction on various platforms. See which domains have most bidders and try to analyze why those domains have multiple bids.

2) Analyse all the end user sales of the day from namebio.

3) Analyse the pending delete names. There are hundreds of thousands of pending deletes so you have to figure out how you want to play. You want to play by valuation, CPC/SV/ Some keywords, a combination of all etc

Try to connect the dots...

I probably spend about 30mins a day on average domaining. Every other day I go through a saves search on expireddomains.net and bid on the ones I like and that's pretty much it. Obviously I don't have many names (70ish now) but I get a few passive sales a year so somethings working.

That's nice. This is something I would like to achieve. How much time you took to reach this position?. Is there any page where I can see your portfolio?.

@Futurewizard I try to watch an episode of Domain Sherpa -Portfolio reviews at least on alternative days. That is fun and informative. Wanted to take notes, but that takes away the fun part.

Most but no all names are here.

Probably been dabbling here n there for 10 years. Never really put a lot of time in to it to be honest. Never done any real outbound marketing, never really tried domain parking, developing or any other types of monetization. I just enjoy looking for names at cheap prices then I put them up for sale and see if anything comes my way. Sometimes I'll change the landing pages but that's about it. I keep an excel spreadsheet with my names on and where they're registered, pointed to and what marketplaces they're for sale at and price. I sell maybe 3/4 names a year for anywhere from 300 to 3000+ bucks then spend some of it on more names and some of it on stuff I need. Maybe one day I'll put more time and effort into it but one thing I can tell you is that to make a living out of it you'll need to spend more than an hour a day at it (in my opinion).

Add keywords to every landing page you have a hundred you could spend a month on that alone.

The other option is do nothing but educate yourself for an hour each day it will certainly influence what you buy you still might need to age what you have.

To me, I've a 2-3 hours free daily, being still brand new to this industry what i usually do is browse namepros :D checking requests, trying to figure out what is in high demand, and then i scout closeouts, expireddomains, pending deletes to see if anything fits the criteria and if it does i research it as much as possible, still making silly mistakes most of the times thats why I'm forcing myself not to buy everything that i see :D also these days im checking sav.com auctions too you could find gems one words there
