NamePros needs to release an eBook titled "Banned & Censored Topics of 2021" which includes a list of political and social topics that are offensive to "anonymous" moderators.

It's too hard to keep up with what is and isn't censored on here, and what might upset users who shift through their regular account and a mod account.

Many users on here don't even feel like we can make suggestion on NP's anymore, even though we are the content creators of this website.

Hello,

(The best guidance we can give is to read the rules.)

Thanks for starting this topic.

We've discussed this with you before in chat, but a thread is even better for future reference.

From our discussion in the chatroom:
Jul 5, 2021 at 5:50 PM - dncafe: Bravo, where is a list of banned topics and domains?

Jul 5, 2021 at 5:53 PM - Bravo Mod Team: dncafe, the rules (and terms) are the closest thing we have. Specific topics and domains aren’t banned, but rather, ones that fit what the rules describe.
  • For example, Samer was displeased because a moderator didn’t agree with him that there was a violation of rule 6.1.15 ("Do not infringe on the intellectual property (“IP”) rights of another party..."); the moderator felt it could be used legitimately to refer to something else besides the known trademark.

Jul 5, 2021 at 6:00 PM - Bravo Mod Team: The rules are generic because it would be impossible to be specific: things change. Today, someone may be spamming GoDaddy.com and tomorrow they may be spamming a brand-new website. It wouldn’t make sense to list specific websites that can’t be spammed. Instead, we say, don’t spam.

There is a relatively small list of rules on NamePros compared to what you've requested. Unfortunately, it would be impossible for us to be as specific as you want.

Here’s an example to illustrate that:
From that rule, try to create a list of every sentence that will violate it. It's very easy to populate a large list, but it'd be impossible for it to be complete (fully comprehensive). It'd also be unlikely that anyone would read a large list of examples because that'd be inefficient, overwhelming, and unnecessary. Additionally, it's already quite difficult to expect everyone to read those two sentences of rule 1.2; a large list would be less productive.

Is it clear why it's unnecessary even if it were possible?

We all simply need to have sufficient understanding of what the rules state, and then we can easily determine what will (or will not) violate them.

If anyone needs assistance with better understanding the rules, please contact us.

We'll be happy to help.

Not sure why you moved my post from the "What should NamePros add" thread:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/what-should-namepros-add.920208/

and created a new thread here and made your own title for it under my username.

My post was a recommendation on what NamePros should add. They should add a complete eBook of all the banned and censored topics, as it is increasing day by day. Not sure how that doesn't fit in with "What should NamePros add"

Eventually, every post in that thread will be moved to its own suggestion thread like we did with yours (and others) because each suggestion needs its own thread to be voted on and/or discussed.

made your own title for it
We’d be happy to update the title of this thread to one of your choosing that reflects your suggestion.

We hope that helps.
