I bought curly.hair a few months back. Last month I put it up on sedo and noticed it getting 2k visitors per month. What's the quickest way to start making money off it, other than selling it.

Right now, I just set it to redirect to an empty IG page, but don't know what to do with it.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Develop it.

Articles. Videos. Advertisements.

You could drive those visits from your index page to Amazon or similar hair care product links.

I'm not sure exactly how the Amazon affiliate marketing program works, but someone here likely will.

And as @koolishman said, develop the site with relevant content, and use Google Ads to increase revenue.

Unfortunately, amazon doesn't allow you to redirect to amazon. I'd have to develop an affiliate site first, which I'm debating because I only have a passing interest in the niche.

You need to determine if these are real people or bots, where they're from, and what they're actually looking for. If you can do that, you might be able to make a couple bucks, but 2000 visitors for something like "curly hair" isn't the most valuable traffic in the world... Are they looking for tools to curl their hair? Do they just want to see pictures of people with curly hair? Do they need shampoo recommendations?

For example, that 2000 visitors could be worth nothing, it could be worth a couple bucks if they're looking for photos, it could be worth a lot if they're looking for world-class education on how to curl hair professionally at the highest level...

So, pop up a quick lil site, and find out :)

Either way, 2000 a month won't make you a heck of a lot of a kw like "curly hair", so are you willing to use that as a head start to build a website that gets 20,000 per month? 200,000 per month? At that point, it could probably cover your rent. But if you are willing to develop it to 200,000 visitors per month, how much is that 2000 head start really worth, should that be the thing that dictates which niche you choose...?

You may want to use a lander first to see if there's been any clicks. There's a chance that the visitors you're seeing are people trying to reg the name by simply typing it into the bar to see if it's available. With .hair it's intuitive to type curly, straight and etc. I know I would, to see if it's available. Domainers are a huge fast growing bunch of people for sure! This may save you time on developing it further, creating affiliate partnerships and so forth, if you only have a small interest in it.

Wow, thank you for the detailed breakdown and the encouragement! It means a lot :)

The traffic breakdown was 50% from the US and the rest was from other major countries like UK, India, China, etc. I'll make a simple affiliate site and see where it goes!

It was a sales lander. I thought putting ads would make it look cheap/spammy

Try SEDO ads and see what happens

Hi

if, you want to earn any money, without selling it
then
you'll need to change settings to PPC.

then maybe some of those visitors may convert to $

curly.hair is a nice pairing.
there is big money behind marketing products for this type of hair texture.

imo....

Thanks, I'll try that. I honestly don't think there is a better domain for the .hair extension (pun intended), so I hope I get some $ from it!

I agree with @koolishman. Develop it. Place ads or promote affiliate products.

Another idea is to develop an e-commerce store on it and sell curly hair related products.

Sedo has a LOT of bot traffic to certain names, and I still can't figure out why.
Park on Bodis if you are approved there and see if there are any clicks., If there are no clicks on PPC, you will not like make many money off affiliate as well, so there is that.

Quick way to check is also to park on DAN and add Google analytics.

I have a few names that get 3-4 visitors per day on DAN and Bodis, but on sedo they show over 100 visits a day. Crazy.

Regarding development, unless you know how to build a site and rank for keywords, don't bother about it. It is a totally different business. You might as well start a Used Car dealership.

Hi

yours is nice, but there are some better one's, but they are Registry Premium Priced.

like > natural.hair @$2400 with $2400 renewal fee and > black.hair with same cost
however, both of those product categories bring in multi-million dollar sales yearly.

Sedo has a LOT of bot traffic to certain names, and I still can't figure out why.
Hi

this issue was answered by Sedo below:
Does sedo traffic mean anything nowadays? - NamePros

imo...

All depends where traffic comes from and what you're doing with it i have domains doing 5k a month in unique traffic 50k in page views earning cents as even though organic all depends on your work or what you can offer to sell.

Bought a product yesterday on Amazon. Their domain was CurlyHair.biz, in case you wanna give them a shot.

Lots of money in the black hair biz.

Any advice I could give is just fluff, fact is...

Add a reasonable bin price and sell it, if you are really getting all that traffic the domain will sell.

If not you will know it's a bot and a lot of BS traffic.

Did you mean to say the domain is curls.biz? CurlyHair.biz is nothing.

what if all the traffic are looking for hair products and not looking to buy the domain?

I had a domain that had 1000-5000 unique visits per day just from Type-in traffic and I never had a single offer on it. Ever. Real traffic because it generated real clicks and parking income
